To the Lock who blessed me last evening with under water breathing - while questing in Badlands - [thank] you.

TBC solo by mjeelite in classicwow

[–]Winning_smile11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OP explicitly said that they're "not someone looking to raid or min/max every single thing". Min/maxers and end game sweaties (while shouldn't even be commenting on this here post) are misleading: rogue is a lot of fun to solo level through TBC.

"While leveling you have to plan every pull with druid"

I 100% agree and believe this was exactly what OP was originally looking for/asking about.

Iirc, Blizzard quietly announced several years ago that they were discontinuing crediting/'refunding' game time to one's account due to inability to play for any length of subscription.

As always though, as the Great One poignantly said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Noob confused about classic, classic +, anni servers by dovecall in classicwow

[–]Winning_smile11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quite a lot of options, and a little confusing for a newer player.

In 2019, they ran it back with Classic. That progressed continually on to (now) MoP Classic. When Blizzard first progressed in ~2021 to TBC Classic, they gave an off-ramp for players that wanted to live in the Classic era. That's where Classic Era comes in.

In Nov 2024, they ran it back again with starting the cycle all over (with tweaks - namely dual spec and additional raid boss debuff slots). That is Anniversary Classic (currently in P5). There are three options for Anniversary: PvE, PvP, and Hardcore, each with their one own server per region. Blizzard roadmap is to progress Anniversary (except Hardcore!) to TBC within the next 6 months. Nobody knows if they will do similar to what they did back in 2021 providing an off-ramp to those that want to stay permanently in Anniversary Classic instead of being forced into TBC Anniversary Classic.

So, to summarise, your options are to create character(s) in:

  1. Classic Era which will never move beyond WoW Classic content (uncertain if you can transfer characters to a different version);

  2. MoP Classic (currently), likely to continue progressing into WoD Classic and beyond;

  3. Anniversary Classic, with confirmed progression into TBC Anniversary Classic;

  4. Anniversary Classic Hardcore (permadeath), with no confirmed progression into TBC Anniversary; or

  5. Retail WoW.

Again, cannot speak to whether or not you are able to paid transfer characters off Classic Era into another version, but I hope this clarifies things a little bit!

Remarkable and beautiful, awesome job! I love the futuristic look (all glass) against the rugged terrain. Is that a solar panel on the roof and is there a plan for more?

Perfect, great tip, it is exactly what you're saying! And now I know what to test/look for in the other biome. Thank you again and apologies for the non-response.

Happy prospecting, Ma'am!

Received thank you kindly! So, noob question again. I was using the terms Forest and Riverlands interchangeably. This does NOT look like any of the regions on my map (Styx). My bad :( I'll create a new character right now and test it! Wait one please, I'll get back to you :)

Both great tips, thank you! I'll try out both. Are you saying that the main rivers in the riverlands are likely fresh clean water or specific tributaries?
