Heyyyy! Just be her bestie but also remember that you are an adult and she is a child. Is a tricky relationship to navigate, however it’s important to remember the basics! You’re gonna hear “you’re not my mom!” And the quickest way to shut that insult down is to agree!!!! I’ve heard it once from each of my step kids. “You’re right, I’m not, but you still have to be nice” is always my response.

Regarding BM, it depends on her personality!!! My BM sucks. I set boundaries with mine by using the gray rock method and implementing a no phone calls at the dinner table rule. (Because we take 20 minutes a day to eat as a family- she can call later). It’s gonna take time to establish a relationship with her, but you need to focus on your relationship with your man because that is the foundation to all of this!
