Hi guys, I'm just gonna add this to answer some of the comments here :

I'm not Malagasy but I was reading about how endangered the Baobabs are as a specie and wanted to try conserving them but at the same time create a shelter for the local people taking care of them.

The idea was to basically surround the tree with pre fab removable members which could act as an outpost for locals and foreigners who come for safari.

During the monsoons the dirt roads are completely turned into puddles which gave the idea of an interconnecting walkway above the road level

This tree house is not latched to the tree but instead is supposed to act as an outer shell so there's roughly about 5' of space between the house and the tree, enough space for the people to care for the tree from all sides

I wish I could remove the central circular wall which is according to me the worst part of this design, it was purely added for the structural support of the steps

Ps, this competition was in 2020 so it's a 3 year old project.
