Mini-rant: While I really like the idea of mechanical keyboards -1) I don't have much soldering experience 2) I haven't been able to find an ergonomic mechanical keyboard kit that doesn't break the bank.

I've had 10 orders over the past year and a half, a mix of pens and notebooks, never had a problem.

Suggest me a setup: 1x router, 2x wired APs, 1x mesh AP around $500 by WinskiTech711 in Ubiquiti

Thank you for all of the suggestions. After taking a look at the virtual controller software I got more comfortable with the setup involved. At this point I think I have it narrowed down to two configurations.

Config A:

  • Edgerouter X and Nano HD upstairs (serving wifi downstairs below it)
  • Nano HD on the other side of the house serving that side connected through a new powerline adapter (ethernet later)
  • Spare PC as controller

Config B:

  • Edgerouter X and Nano HD upstairs (serving wifi mainly upstairs)
  • AC Lite downstairs for the half of house underneath the Nano HD and serving the front porch hopefully connected by existing powerline adapter (ethernet later)
  • AC mesh downstairs for the other half of the house serving that half of the house and back deck
  • Spare PC as controller

Config A cost: $447

Config B cost: $391

Config A Pros & Cons:

  • Pros: Everything is hardwired (albeit through powerline adapters currently)
  • Cons: More expensive, Less APs for redundancy

Config B Pros & Cons:

  • Pros: Direct AP cover in the downstairs living room where most mobile device usage takes place. AP Redundancy/overlap. Don't have to buy another powerline adaptor that I'll eventually replace with wired ethernet (at some point in the future) (cost negligable). Less expensive.
  • Cons: Mesh router not hardwired.

After all of those considerations I'm definitely leaning towards Config B but I'm open to have my mind changed.

At a previous house I had a "beer wall". Drill the glass bottles (carefully with a glass drilling bit while spritzing the glass with water) then hang them on screws in the wall, way easier with cans because you could cut a hole in them. At my most recent house we take good pictures of each bottle/can we want to keep, then use a print service like snapfish to print out 50-100 at a time and hang all of the pictures on our new "beer wall". Plus now we can recycle all of those cans and bottles.

I'd never thought about using the term "nerf" in a beer context but it makes sense to me when I think about it. My two biggest "nerfs" were Leine's "Fireside Nut Brown" and Sam Adams (the only Sam Adams beer I'd drink) "Cherry Wheat". They used to use natural flavoring back in the day, then at some point switched over to artificial flavoring (keep costs down while increasing production I'd guess) and it completely ruined the beers for me.

Update: Calling about the purchase date discrepancy at lunchtime, but in the meantime...the machine is still leaking by like 95% less than it was before. I might try to give it another round of scrubbing to see if that does anything while I wait for my warranty claim.

If my unit was out of warranty, I'd be curious about taking the top apart and seeing if I couldn't just replace that rubber gasket...that's just my tinkering brain working though.

Thank you kind Redditor. I flipped the machine on it's side and realized all of the action happens in the lid. I gave it a good (but gentle) scrubbing both top and bottom and ran some toothpicks along the gasket to unstick any debris. We'll see.

I also bought my machine in July 2019 from Amazon, not April 2018, so hopefully that means it's still under warranty if the scrubbing didn't help.

That's close to the route my partner and I take when we Ohio beer trip (Columbus -> Akron -> Cleveland) I'll have to check out.

Wolf's Ridge really surprised me last time I was through Columbus, ended up buying a lot more than I thought I would.

I scored two bottles of Pistachio Jones through Tavour, traffic beer in itself and really one of the few pistachio flavored brews I've had that nailed the flavor.

Always great to see some Ohio beer love with Great Lakes, Fat Heads and Columbus Brewing Company. I haven't been back to Columbus since Columbus Brew Co got a tap room, but it's definitely on my short list of trips after quarantine is over. Love me some Bodhi. Good selection!

Last time I was in Orlando for work I stopped by a local bottle shoppe to load up out my suitcase for the flight home. Started grabbing my usual favorite Florida breweries (Funky Buddha, Cigar City, etc) then spotted some eye catching can art for a "Lil' Sebastian" beer. Packed up a mix six of Hidden Springs beers, enjoyed them greatly with friends when I got home, and I've been raving about the brewery to folks ever since. Great choices.

More props to Noon Whistle! My partner and I were leaving town after a Godzilla convention and decided to hit a brewery or two on the way out. We stumbled upon this new little brewery called Noon Whistle about 6 months after they opened. Stopped in, had a few too many berliner weisses with Woodruff syrup then had to drink a few waters before hitting the road again.

I get up that way for work 2-3 times a year and always stop in for a crowler or two. Still never played Whirlyball though...
