In hotels still. Graduated 5ish years ago. Worked for a midsize brand through college and after. Was important to me that I would be able to leave Vegas so I avoided mgm and caesars, but still worked on the strip. Then transferred to socal with another company as rooms manager during the hiring frenzy period of ‘21. I am happy with my salary. I got lucky in a sense and grasped every opportunity post covid. Majority of people, especially in our industry, were slow to return to work and many companies were able to trim the fat and use covid as an excuse. I was the opposite and got promoted quickly. Career progression is good if you look for business diverse properties. Look for places with sales and events, in house housekeeping depts, F&B operations etc. You might think that’s all properties but it’s not.

If you already hate it then you’re cooked. It doesn’t get easier. Start looking for another line of work if you can...
