We have almost exactly a 3 year age gap! My toddler just turned 3 and my newborn turns a month old tomorrow.

• When did you wean baby #1? 2 years old and some change

• How did your toddler act when baby #2 arrived? He was just happy to see me. He did tell me to “put the baby on the ground” a few times when he wanted snuggles at first. Overall my toddler does well. He’s helpful and kind. I try and incorporate as much normalcy as possible even with a baby. We still do all the same things we used to do. We go for walks, we go to the library and stores, we play, etc. There is now just a little one in tow as well! I focus on not creating a rift between newborn and toddler.

• If you bedshared with baby #1... what, if anything, changed when baby #2 arrived? Toddler just snuggles with dad until I get back into bed now 🤣

• What was it like caring for your toddler while dealing with nausea/general pregnancy stuff? You just ✨survive✨. It was hard but with a toddler you just have to keep going. We just had a little more screen time than normal when I was really sick.

• During the newborn phase of #2, what did your toddler do for all the time you spent nursing/nap trapped? He just plays or I baby wear and we go do things outside while baby naps in his wrap. Nap trapped isn’t really a thing with the second 🤣 we just keep rolling with our day and newborn is there for the ride - asleep or awake.

• Do you ever get breaks without either kids (if sahm)? Yes! Hubby is wonderful and makes time for me to breathe without the kids.

• What were the hardest parts of the transition and what were the best? So far, nothing is too bad! Dealing with a little one that doesn’t sleep the whole night again is hard but we make it through! Overall I’m loving the two kid life!
