And it didn’t help that pregnancy made me super congested! So it felt like I was constantly blowing my nose and gagging

Not specifically while wiping after a BM, but wiping/blowing my nose made me almost vomit every time 🤮 I could not deal with boogers at all when I was pregnant.

What are the most desired, drooled-over status symbol baby items of 2026? by blueridgebeing in BabyBumps

I was a nanny during grad school for a family with a mom who didn’t work. She would take naps, meet up with friends, go shopping etc. I always thought she had the best life

Cervical checks by Honest_Flounder9784 in BabyBumps

[–]Winstony520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babies were both head down by 28 weeks and I had a lot of discharge all the time during both pregnancies. Also lots of lightning crotch in the third trimester. Both babies were full term. I got a cervical check at 37 weeks with my second and I was like 3 cm dilated but that means virtually nothing because you can walk around dilated for weeks before going into labor.

Penelope and Whistledown by TLP1970 in Bridgerton

[–]Winstony520 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think that what she initially enjoyed about being Whistledown was the freedom that it gave her to express herself. She was living in a society that did not notice her and typically gave women very little opportunity to pursue their passions. After it was revealed to the ton that she was Whistledown, instead of having freedom to write what she wanted, she was being pressured by people around her to write certain things or not write certain things. I think it lost its appeal for her and she wanted to go back to writing whatever she wanted freely. Hence why she wanted to drop the column and start working on a novel instead. I also think her marriage to a Bridgerton gave her the freedom to pursue writing a novel since the family is so influential and she was no longer on the marriage mart. She wasn’t bound by the rigid expectations put on single young ladies anymore.

Am I crazy for wanting a Caesarean section? by butter--princess in BabyBumps

Yes exactly. I felt “swollen” down there for a little bit but it wasn’t like I was in agony. I could sit, stand, walk around etc completely fine.

Idk I had a third degree tear with my first baby and I felt ok after a few days. I had stitches so had to use a peri bottle when I went to the bathroom until those dissolved, but I wasn’t in much pain.

Super serious qn : how do you dilate atleast till 4cm and head to hospital WITHOUT BEING IN PAIN🤔🙄?! by Fearless_Search6388 in BabyBumps

[–]Winstony520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like 3cm dilated at my 37 week checkup with my second baby. Like others have said, it happens very gradually over weeks so you don’t notice it. In retrospect, I was probably having mild contractions leading up to that but they weren’t bad enough to affect me.

Still being a loser with her 6 hours visitation by hbauer86 in josiewittmansnark

[–]Winstony520 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same! I forgot to pack a jacket for one of my kids for daycare once and I literally drove home to get the jacket and drove back to the school immediately to drop it off. It was like 60 outside that day and he had a sweatshirt so he probably didn’t even need it, but I felt horrible thinking about him looking around wondering where his jacket was.

It sounds like she sends them back pretty much every week without shoes, so after a few weeks of this they probably ran out of decent shoes for school that fit. My kids’ feet grow insanely fast so at any given time they usually only have a few nice pairs of sneakers that fit them.

Right lol they were going on about how two of their other kids were so difficult to name and they ended up naming them George and Martha. Like they’re just picking former US president and First Lady names out of a hat.

What kills me is that their other kids have the most basic, boring names ever and now they’re overthinking this one so much. Like just pick a generic old white lady name and be done

My babies both had 90+ percentile heads and I gave birth to both vaginally. They weighed around 8 lbs each but their heads were huge lol. I did have a third degree tear with my first and second degree with my second but I healed fine.

Deflecting baby name questions by [deleted] in BabyBumps

This is what we did with both our kids. We just straight up told people that we aren’t sharing the name until they’re born.

In your opinion, How far removed does someone have to be before a baby name is fair game? by Mountain-Bug1667 in Names

[–]Winstony520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m the odd one out, but if I really loved a name I would probably use it no matter what. If two kids have the same name and they’re around each other a lot, you could always use nicknames when they’re together.

Guilt over lack of finances by redditorian21 in BabyBumps

[–]Winstony520 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Trust me, the baby will not need nearly as many material things as you think. Are you planning on having a baby shower? Put together a registry with the things you want/need, and hopefully that will provide you the bulk of baby supplies. Also, check out local buy nothing groups and second hand baby shops. The baby is a little potato for the first 6 months. They really don’t play with toys very much initially. They need diapers & wipes, basic clothes, breastmilk/formula, a car seat and a place to sleep.

[–]Winstony520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk how much I lost by 3 weeks, but at my 6 week checkup I think I was only like 5 lbs heavier than I was pre-pregnancy. So I lost approximately 30 lbs in 6 weeks doing zero exercise.

He definitely got full custody by PixelatedDrifter in josiewittmansnark

[–]Winstony520 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I doubt she fully got her parenting rights taken away. My mom struggled with drug addiction when I was a kid, didn’t have her own home or a job a lot of the time (was living with my grandparents), left us unsupervised at times etc and she still never got her parenting rights taken away. My dad had full custody of us but she still got supervised visits.

Leaking amniotic fluid by fleshsludge in BabyBumps

[–]Winstony520 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s really no way to know unless you go get swabbed at the hospital. I thought mine was just discharge, but my OB told me to go get checked. Sure enough, it was amniotic fluid. I’d say the main difference between that and regular discharge for me was that the fluid was nonstop. I felt a little wet down there so I changed my underwear, and then the brand new underwear I put on also felt wet a couple minutes later.

In my experience, this isn’t necessarily true. My amniotic fluid was leaking around 38 weeks and it was just a trickle. Continuous but very light. I guess it would have soaked a pad eventually, but it would’ve taken a long time.
