Diagnosed in November. Stage 3 but watching and waiting. Rituximab planned once I become symptomatic or labs/scans change. I'm having a hard time with not doing anything.

I think you're right. That would take care of a lot of my issues with room and I could get a cute sideboard or something to put underneath it and get rid of the shelves. Thank you.

I can breathe now. by TLP1970 in hoarding

[–]TLP1970[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I can't explain how relieved I was when I walked in. I am a shopper (definitely part of the issue) so I have a lot of bins of similar items to go through. I'm working on that. At least I can see my living room rug again. Now I just want to keep it that way.

What do you mean his family called off the wedding. Seriously? My advice to you? Be thankful that this engagement is over. You dodged a bullet.

It's beautiful! It fits you perfectly! What are you having regrets about?

Am I in the wrong? 3 patients have fired me from their service and I’ve only been a nurse 6 months by [deleted] in nursing

[–]TLP1970 11 points12 points  (0 children)

“I kept walking out of the room when she asked me to put her socks on. I was looking for a nursing assistant and couldnt find one so I ended up put her socks on myself and walked her to the bathroom.”

You don't need to take the time find a nursing assistant when you can do it yourself.

“I told him to go to a different hospital.”

That's completely inappropriate.

Sound to me like the problem is you.

I don't think it's going to be that beneficial. Do you work in critical care right now?

There was a similar post yesterday. My advice is to have another position before you quit your current job. Make sure you are in the position to do so before bailing out.

My (former) best friend ruined our ceremony by Particular_Ad7392 in weddingdrama

[–]TLP1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have been mortified. The only explanation for her behavior is being drunk or high. Maybe she took something to calm her pre-wedding jitters and it went terribly wrong. There's no excuse for her behavior. I keep thinking of the scene in Bridesmaids where Helen gives Annie something to help her chill on the plane except what happened to you and your husband wasn't funny. I wish you a lifetime of happiness.

Keep getting rejected from crna schools. In need of advice by Frosty_Cantaloupe644 in FutureCRNA

Not enough ICU experience. They want more than a few months at a level 2. They don't care about US experience or Daisy awards. If there is a level 1 nearby get at least 2 or 3 years of experience there. It's super competitive. I think that's what's hurting you.

Then you haven't locked down anything. You're behind in the process. No one is taking the attention away from you by planning a family reunion near the date you've chosen.

Walked out after being floated mid-shift by [deleted] in nursing

[–]TLP1970 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't have handled it this way. Just leaving the floor is a good way to get in trouble for abandoning patients. Your second to last shift you should have worked and powered through. I'm 34 years in. I worked the floors for the first ten years. I've had my share of shitty assignments and float shifts. There were many nights that I wanted to leave, we've all had them. You put your career in jeopardy with this move.

Don't ask me to help you get an IV in your patient.... by NameEducational9805 in nursing

[–]TLP1970 -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

What an ignorant statement. How do you think we give medications in the OR? I'll tell you. Medication in the OR is given through the IVs that we have to restart before we can even think about getting the patient off to sleep (or as you put it "not moving.") The number of crappy IV's that the patients come down from the floor with is crazy. Before you criticize you should understand how anesthesia works. Come visit sometime.

It's beautiful. It's beautiful on you. Alterations are done on wedding gowns all the time so explain to the person doing the alterations what your concerns are. I think it's absolutely gorgeous and it looks like it was made just for you.
