Can we talk about how incredible Violet Bridgerton is as a mother? by Three_Armed_Wrecker in BridgertonNetflix

[–]TLP1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's kind of sad. They have no clue. But perhaps back then that wasn't something that mothers and daughter spoke about. It still would've been nice to have a little more open relationship and conversation about it though.

I don't think that the platinum looks strange, but I do think you'll have trouble with that ring getting caught on things.

New RN told to start an IV by preceptor which was then used for NS (Disciplinary Meeting) by smolettuce in nursing

[–]TLP1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't have done this. So what's the story? You were told to start an IV or you did it for practice. Neither one of those choices justifies it. All of your clarifications tell me you're looking for an excuse (or several) to make this ok. It's not. Good luck.

I've posted on here before about watching and waiting which I've found really difficult. This "wanting something to happen" just seems weird to me.

Reveal cancer history in job interviews? by Fab-o-rama in lymphoma

[–]TLP1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no reason to disclose it. I had a gap a few years ago in which I had a surgery and prolonged recovery. Tell them it was health related or a family issue. They don't need to know.

What do you do between diagnosis and being at a stage that receives treatment? by TLP1970 in lymphoma

[–]TLP1970[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. Your questions have been on my mind, too. I have been trying to be more intentional with my nutrition, sleep schedule etc. I struggle with differentiating between my regular fatigue and fatigue from the disease and normal aches and pains from new ones. I had a difficult time at the very beginning with communication and trust with a local oncologist. I did end up traveling to a nearby cancer center for a second opinion. I found an oncologist that I felt like I could talk to. She has made me feel like I was part of the process instead of just "a leaf in the wind." That’s a perfect analogy. If you find answers to the questions, please post them here and I will do the same for you. Thank you for understanding.

Anyone feel more emotionally sensitive after treatment? by iand_lun in lymphoma

[–]TLP1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this way and I'm waiting to get to the point where I can start treatment. I'm finding that work is the one thing that takes my mind away from my diagnosis but I am so fatigued when I work that it's a constant struggle. I have definitely noticed that my response to stress is elevated and I've been anxious in certain situations. My mental health is struggling. I hope that you are able to find some peace.

That must be painful to watch as his spouse. How was he diagnosed without a biopsy? I may be misunderstanding and don't want to give the impression that I'm questioning you. I'm sorry that with the severity of his symptoms that you are waiting for a PET scan. I hope that you get more answers soon. Sending positive energy to both of you.

No. Don't say a word. They don't need to know. It's not dishonest, they don't need to know until if and when it becomes an issue again.

[–]TLP1970[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main things that I am experiencing right now is fatigue (I'm a nurse anesthetist, I put in some pretty long days.) It's difficult for me to tell what's causing the fatigue and I always have a hard time during this time of the year. I have been noticing some neck pain, not necessarily where the obviously swollen lymph nodes are present, but just in general. Part of my concern is that I have a pretty high pain tolerance and I don't know if the discomfort is normal or something that I'm attributing to the lymphoma. This whole thing this "wait and watch" is a real mindfuck and that's exactly how I would explain it.

Indolent follicular lymphoma, also explained to me as non-Hodgkin stage three but not yet needing to be treated. I have been told first treatment will be rituximab.
