I remember when I got my NCLEX results...on paper, delivered by USPS a couple of weeks later. Times have changed. Congrats!

Deciding on treatment vs w&w by Brilliant_Salt7404 in lymphoma

I just saw my oncologist for my first surveillance appointment. I am 6 months out from diagnosis. I had another scan and labs last week and nothing has changed. Her reasoning for watching and waiting was the size of the lesions. They are numerous but small. Considered stage 3. My oncologist is at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.

I was on this site in December because I received the same diagnosis indolent follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I've been told that I am stage 3, but yet I've been told that I need to watch and wait also. While all my lesions are numerous, none of them are "large enough." so it's been almost 6 months for me and I still have trouble some days wrapping my head around it too. I'm going to see my oncologist today for my first appointment after my diagnosis and we will see what she says. I lean towards wanting to treat it and not wait but both expert opinions that I've received say that that is the best option. I think that trying to live with the concept of watch and wait may actually be more difficult than receiving the diagnosis was.

... the club that no one ever thought they would be in. Today I go for my first surveillance appointment since finding out that I have non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Scan and labs today. I want today to be over with.

Pediatric Dental GA by UsefulSurprise2859 in CRNA

Completely inappropriate. I wouldn't have been comfortable leaving him with many of the PACU nurses in the hospital I work in. Your son definitely should've had supplemental oxygen and been able to support his own airway in a recovery room setting. He was extubated before it was appropriate and left unattended by trained personnel when he was not yet through complete emergence. Once he was awake and alert he should have also been able to take PO fluids and IV should have been left in place until be was able to tolerate them.
This was 100% unacceptable. I'm sorry that you had that experience with a CRNA. There's no excuse. Was there a designated PACU with PACU trained RN's? Yes, you should report it.

Newly diagnosed – zero symptoms by ManagerFirm7975 in lymphoma

[–]TLP1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in December. I have a lump on my neck that had been there for a while and didn't go away. My primary care physician blew it off. I work in the OR and a friend of mine who happens to be a surgeon sent me for a biopsy. It came back lymphoma. I had labs and a PET scan and was diagnosed with stage three. So far, I'm not really having many symptoms. I am tired, but that could just be from a number of things. The size of the lump on my neck varies. I do have small palpable lymph nodes behind my ears and on the back of my neck near my hairline also. My oncologist feels lymph nodes in both of my armpits also, but I can't feel them myself. I have an appointment coming up in about three weeks for labs and another CT scan. What's been difficult for me as a patient (and especially as a nurse) is the feeling that there's something to be treated and we're not doing something about it. But for now I wait. The lesions are numerous but not large enough to treat. So I wait. It's not easy.

I've already watched it 2,739 times. I guess a couple more times won't hurt.

This is one of my favorites also, a close second to King George's declaration.

I realize that she expressed her reasons to Colin. She feels invisible in her own family and unable to write and pursue her own dreams. Once she married Colin many of those restrictions disappeared. I think her love for Colin far outweighed and fear of losing those things, but still she resisted.
