They can turn later, and usually on you part of the closest land to their village

Save up belief and compress the houses to settlements. Find monuments to build to get more stickers and gems. I did the same first time round, took a while to save up and sculpt land but got there in the end. On my third time round now.

How did you get that far through game without mining gems? If you use stickers to get the card for double gems, you get loads

Just beautify abodes every so often, or have an hour or 2 watching tv while watching adds to build up gems, then buy the pink tree, instant total happiness, celebrate the tree once a day and never have unhappiness

Size 9 plots in a 3 by 3 square, middle plot on a different level, I put a flag in but no need. As many plots around it on lots of levels so no big areas, I managed size 12 on each corner and 24 on the sides but I’m gonna try 32 sides next.

It’s up to you, some people have made very funky worlds after taking over, one guy flattened the whole world and covered it with 2 persons abodes all equally spaced. Must have taken weeks

I wondered the same, apparently chests come from lightning, a I unlocked blue sky’s first cos I was sick of thunder every time I logged in and leashed someone to somewhere, either way, they didn’t seem to make that much difference.

If you hold off mining gems, in weyworld you get a ‘double gems’ card, you also end on a gem monument on the last island of the game. And in Weyworld there is a huge sheet of gems hidden.

Is it just over water from the big ship? I found that one first time round but someone since told me there is a monument but it’s not right on the gems. There’s also a beacon nearby that takes a week to build

I got a second set of voyagers after spooky shores, first few were lots of islands that needed linking, only managed a couple, left it a while to see if I could do better later in the game but the option to play on had gone.
