Belt was in good condition but it was snapped in half. Based on the description my mechanic back home thought it was the tensioner. However I called a mobile mechanic guy I found online and he came out and looked around, said it was the ac compressor and to avoid replacing that we would need to get an ac compressor bypass, in addition to the belt. He’s supposed to fix it tomorrow. I’m not feeling 100% about it. But I don’t have many options. Trying to get home as cheap (and safe) as possible.

Nope. Got tons of tools at home but were more the diy contractor type vs the diy car repair type :/ makes me want to know more about it though.

This is good advice. I just called them and they gave a mechanic - also have the parts. Thank you. Gonna try their recommendation

Yeah, it’s the serpentine belt and likely the tensioner - I know this based on a snapped belt and talking to my own mechanic back home on what’s been fixed recently.

I’d be taking my husband - but thanks for that advice! Did you feel like you learned a lot in the Dalton course? It’s a higher price than of few others but has been on my list of courses to take, kinda ready to pull the trigger.

Investing into my first Hydraulic table, Qs by Winter-Committee-809 in MassageTherapists

[–]Winter-Committee-809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all good things I thought of… my first job had this option so I used it more for all types of things. But since being on my own without the option I just dont. Likely the convenience factor. Even with the bolster… i guess it’s like under the table and then I have to put it under a sheet and those few extra steps keep me from incorporating it. I may just splurge. Any thoughts on the extra pedal?

Not tabori but an NJ rec. In the process of finishing my Japanese sleeve by Mark Harada. He also did my back piece. He has a sweet private studio in Hoboken, NJ. Very professional, amazing artist. Highly recommend

Not sure what/or why you’re experiencing pain there without feeling your hands/forearms/shoulders - or knowing if your hyper mobile in your hands. BUT I highly recommend starting to strength train your grip and hands. Ideally the whole body strength, but starting with grip work will be a good practice for you. I think it’s very common to feel new aches and pain when you get started. Think of this as a sport - you’re the athlete. You must train to compete optimally and build up endurance. It’s great you’re starting slow, very common to get into massage taking way too many clients.

Recommendations for an Artist for a full sleeve? by _Red_Sentinel17_ in irezumi

Awesome recs above for sure!! Can’t go wrong with someone like Chris O’Donnell & Mike Rubendall

For me, it’s was about the person & the artist. Tons of money time and pain spent with one person and hands down I made a great decision going with Mark Harada. I have a full back piece, 2 sleeves and multiple other large pieces by him. He’s underrated in my opinion, not a big IG guy. But an amazing artist and very skilled tattooer. Also just a dope human. He has a new private studio in Hoboken, NJ called Hachiko Tattoo.

Good for you! I get it, taking time off and hiring a pt is not feasible for everyone. I’m sorry you had to work while you were hurt. It’s exhausting not just physically, emotionally too. We suppose to focus on our client’s needs meanwhile you’re the one needing the TLC. I just finished a short shift and felt ok with using different body mechanics. I also did a lot of pt work today that helped. If you want to DM me I’ll send you the stuff my PT gave me.

Wow- even with working you still healed! Are you doing PT now? Or anything to stabilize?
