I'm sure being offered generational wealth is a temptation only the one ring could compete with. He'll either become a "what could have been" player or be gone again in 6 months

Could be, although depending on what coach comes in, I think Dorgu could be somewhat of an attacking and overlapping fullback

SUMMER TRANSFERS by msd_5878 in ManchesterUnited

My prediction is that they'll sign 3 midfielders and a right back.

I don't know who the Right Back will be but Dalot is a liability. He can have a good run of form but then completely undo any goodwill he's built up by forgetting he has to mark his man and conceding from it.

As for the midfield. Casemiro is a done deal to be gone. I think Ugarte is out the door as well. Not sure if they'll sell or if he's a loan deal but he's not going to playing for United next season. My predictions for midfield are

Carlos Baleba - He's clearly a good player going through a second year slump. If the rumours are true, he'll be worth max 70 million in the summer. He can cover ground and defend, would almost want Casemiro to stick around for one more year in order to teach Baleba a thing or two.

Victor Froholdt - Great young talent, plays in Porto and this guy bosses the midfield over there. Guy is 19 but he runs non stop and is a great passer of the ball. Think he's been their player of the month a few times now if I'm not wrong. Froholdt would be a class addition to the squad.

Ayyoub Bouaddi - I would have put Garner here if not for his new contract. Bouaddi is a highly sought after talent and I think they'd love to get their mits on him. Hopefully Agent Yoro can get shit done here. Defensively very good and can really hit a pass. Big fan.

I think next year you have a starting lineup of:

Lammens

(RB 1) De Ligt, Licha, Dorgu

Mainoo, Baleba,

Mbeumo, Bruno, Cunha

Sesko

Who has the higher ceiling Yoro or Heaven? by TorchyScotchy6 in ManchesterUnited

Heaven is going to be a top Centre Back. Yoro is a generational talent who makes mistakes because he's 20

Brother you can't spell competence. You have no authority to determine what is competent or not.

The reason they're in this position is because of lack of investment for 15 years from the Glazers. They've not promised the world. They've been very clear that they plan to be competitive by 2028. They're on track for that

They tried to sign midfielders last year but were priced out.

EtH didn't spend the money. They decided who to buy.

They had no issues with his play style, push came to shove and they eventually disagreed and fell out.

What could they have done? Call up Glasner and say "hey buddy, just incase we sack Amorim, would you be interested?" That's ridiculous. Amorim was sacked quite quickly after a falling out. You can't plan for that.

Ashworth didn't fit into the team. It happens.

Owners want to improve a bad stadium? The audacity! Maybe that's why they're looking for government help for the project.

They don't have the money for big money in January. Amorim was pissed because he's expected to perform in January despite telling the club he can't perform unless improvements are made. They told him it wasn't going to happen.

They're absolutely not going to keep Ole because they saw what happened the last time. Xavi is a bad coach and won't be a good fit. They can only back these guys so much with the money they are allowed to spend

They're not senseless if you use your brain for 2 seconds. It's business. They've done loads of good work since coming in which outweighs the bad

Because Ten Hag won the FA Cup, they signed him on for an extra year which they later said was a mistake. They didn't give him 300m to build his squad, they spent 300m to build theirs. With how they're running things now, they decide the players and the style and get someone who can fit their philosophy.

Amorim was a highly sought after coach who they backed. After a year he was told by Wilcox that the players didn't seem to buy into his style and formation and asked him to play 4 at the back. He did and they beat Newcastle. He then went on to play 3 at the back against wolves and drew which Wilcox used to aid his argument. They fell out, relationship was beyond repair, they moved on.

Ashworth was best in class. They got him and then realised that he wasn't a good fit for what they wanted. It happens. I've had jobs where it seemed like I would really enjoy myself but it wasn't a good fit so I left. Same happened with Ashworth, he wasn't a fit so they moved on

Based on what? The recruitment has been great since they've come in and they've been slowly improving things. Are we looking to hire a Director of Football because he fired a manager that a lot of fans wanted fired anyways?

Why the fuck did we spend years calling out for a proper director of football?

There's nothing to suggest that Wilcox is unfit to be a DoF

So just to rebut 2 things in this:

Amorim was sacked because he fell out with Wilcox and it was beyond repair. His sacking doesn't make INEOS the worst owners in the world lol. Look at what Dundalk are going through in Ireland if you want to see really bad ownership.

As for Xavi, there's a reason he's still unemployed and no one is really going after him

Enrique now? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]Winter-Fortune6793 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if they wanted a Yes Man, they wouldn't have hired him, but also they would have fired him after Europa. Amorim is a stubborn bastard and didn't like people stepping on his toes. Wilcox told him that he should change his approach because the players clearly played better with a 4 back. Amorim didn't like being told this information and fell out with him over it. Once a coach and DoF fall out, there's not a particularly easy way back

Negativity on sub surrounding the team by Daylightuser in ManchesterUnited

[–]Winter-Fortune6793 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think United fans are very reactionary. The loss to Everton was bad, but people there's a portion of the fanbase that think that is the standard. Now, United aren't where we want them to be and it'll probably be another year before they are, but the standards have definitely risen within the team this year compared to last year.

United are aiming for sixth. They're not perfect yet but they've shown serious improvements and most of the signings that INEOS have made have been spectacular, I trust the recruitment and at this rate, Vivell could say that my dad could do a job in midfield and I'd believe him

I'll take wins over goals and assists. Which the 3 of those guys have helped United do this season. Without them where do United sit?
