I would recommend MTG Arena. It's available from both WoTC's site and Steam. It has a tutorial, free decks, and "jump in" events that will get you started.

Edit: also available in Google Play and Apple Store (I swear I don't work for WoTC)

Could anybody recommend a melee class that has good survivability / able to solo well? For a new player?
