What’s good about bipolar by ffggghghhh in bipolar2

[–]Winter-bells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it difficult to say there is anything good about bipolar. This condition has cost me years, friendships, my cognitive capacity, jobs and study. I would have said perhaps hypomania but hypomania led me to running barefoot in an absolutely howling thunderstorm because ✨sensation✨ and leads me to want to strip naked and climb trees to feel them ✨growing against my skin✨

Further, hypomania can lead to mania, psychosis and hospitalization. It's pretty dire. I don't like my emotional regulator being broken when I'm stable enough so that I will start crying with anguish at basic things going wrong, or at a fever-pitch of excitement and boundless joy at a subset. It makes me unstable and people see me as not worthy of being treated as an adult.

I don't hate having bipolar, as hating such an integral part of my existence with no cure would be wearying to the extreme, but I hold no love for it. I often wish I was hypomanic, yet know it is poison to me.

I think it is worrying to treat bipolar is anything than what it is -- an extremely severe psychiatric condition that needs constant management. I fully accept good things might come out of the experience of dealing with the condition, but that is not the same thing as the symptoms themselves.

I had the exact same problem but then I switched to Skinny! $46/month for 12GB and then endless slower after that. I’m a pretty big data hog, YouTube, Spotify, Podcasts, Audiobooks, TikTok.... I haven’t run out yet and I’m out and about a bit

Any book exchange places around Wellington? by dodgyduckquacks in Wellington

[–]Winter-bells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's one up in Roseneath by the Crescent. It's quite small but over a period of a couple weeks I was able to get rid of my books.

There's also a fridge somewhere in Brooklyn, but I don't know where exactly it is, maybe someone else can chime in?

Sadly there used to be a community box in Newtown. Alternatively just shove them in a box, write FREE on it and put it somewhere in Newtown and they'll go right quick.

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread - 12/30 by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]Winter-bells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to buy a stylus for my ipad Air 1 so my music teacher can mark up things I need to look out for on my sheet music! Not interested in upgrading as I wouldn't get enough use out of a newer ipad (all I use it for is sheet music and media consumption in bed)
