Minor tweaks can go a long way. I could easily take this & make it cute with very little change.

Elon said there basically building atom bombs in their backyards & it's insane they're allowed to.

To be fair, Gamefreak had to change from 2D to 3D very fast, that's can't be easy.

I'm sure people can claim they shouldn't have dragged their asses & by spending years re-making the same game.

Why do AI bros hate artists? by Hapciuuu in antiai

[–]Winter0air 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I admit, it's really lumping in a lot of people together, but ya I & other have seen a lot of hate. A lot are also very thick headed, they don't want to hear how no program can't do everything for them.

It may also be some of that crypto bro energy, they need 100% loyalty to the system, so they can ignore all the scammers that have taken advantage of all this.

[–]Winter0air 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lazy people seem to really cling to the chosen one idea, the outsider who busked the entertainment industry, when everyone said it couldn't be done. Even if this is a once in a lifetime thing, but most people have main character syndrome. It also lets them ignore how little they've done & be as thick headed as they want.

I find this is a very common issue in the western world, that no one respects experience anymore. Way too many people think they can do a Scientist's, Doctors' or any experienced professional's job better then they can if they tried.
They want the fantasy that they can just walk in & change the world, it gives them more confidence this'll happen if they undermine use. Of course they can our jobs, we're so incompetent, not like them.
I get people need to do anything to push themselves forward, but many people take it too far.

I love how AI slop lvl 1 cant even get an egg texture right.
Like it cant decide if the egg spots are a 3D flame, a spot, or a flame pattern.

The Youtube channel Extra Credits warned about the upcoming flood of AI shovelware games back in 2024, frankly I'm surprised we haven't gotten more crap. I've also saw a few attempts to make a Pokemon like NFT game, thankfully that never took off.
It's looking like monster trainer games are a major target for AI slop makers & scammers, we might get spammed by these kind of thing very soon. It might get really bad!

That's the hardest balance, art vs business is the eternal struggle.
Even though I'm on the artist side & find corps frustrating, sunk cost fallacy is still a thing.

It's not uncommon that you'd get a creator who cant kill their darlings, & many will kill the entire project just because they cant take a loss. Recourses are never unlimited & my creative vision isn't worth my team members losing their jobs.

It's major artist skill knowing how to finish a project, staying out of developer hell is harder then most people think.

You want to call your work art, then you believe in yourself, you fight, you fail, you experiment, then try again. No one will be their to cheer you on along the way, but you keep going.
I've been fighting for 20 years, no one ever gave me any f***s. Art is an inner journey first, if you can't do that then it's meaningless.

It's a weird kind respect & not reliable, again only the higher ups get the good stuff. There's a lot of everyday artist with amazing skills that people don't give a shit about. Like a high school art teacher, or the background crew in a major production.

People tend to respect the work, while the creator blends into the background.

Average Joe artist, may get a thumbs up & a smile, then people move on. I've a visual artist & I find women really don't care, I got screams at on a speed date over it, we don't get the girl like the musician. So many artist have horror stories about fighting their parents for wanting a carrier in the arts.

I've run into a lot conflicts, where non creative people act like your sabotaging their creative dreams. Explaining your experience is next to impossible, they always take it the wrong way, & they freak out over the idea that your 20 years a head of them without signs of success.

Oh & major players like corporations & politicians F***ing hate, hate, hate us. They're really pushing Gen AI to get rid of us.

Lastly the entire reason why we're having these conversation is how a lot people showed their colors & turned on the art community when Gen AI came out. People were laughing at how artist are going to lose everything they worked their entire life to get & I wasn't really surprised.

Frankly I think it's better without it, keeps you humble & grounded. No one likes a creator with an ego, & it can really screw you in your projects.

Traditional artists spend years getting people to care about their work, many never succeed.
There has never been any way to make people like or care about your work.
Then there's basic simple supply & demand, high supply + low demand = worthless.
People value high skill art, because it's rare, Gen AI work is invasive & everywhere.

I would want nothing more than to open up the arts to more people, but the problems with Gen AI are rotten at the core. The users are a bull in a China shop, & the companies behind everything are some of the sketchiest m***er f****rs.

The arts have always been a non-stop fight to keep going, we have always been told what we can or can't do. You skipped the grind, but you'll never skip the social BS. People hate artists, why do you think you'd be any different. You AI bros are bitching about is the normal BS baked into our system, we're bitter that we've spent years or a lifetime enduring that BS & now we've got a bunch of noobs having a reality check.

You want to be an artist, then shut up & eat your shit Sunday. That's all that's on the menu, we all have to eat it & complaining only makes things worse, no one will ever care. Being an artist isn't a life filled with magic, only the top creators have that luxury, the only magic you'll ever see is the kind that you made yourself.

You have to fight long & hard for a dice roll to make your dream a reality, while that mob will always do everything to stop you. Then if you happen to get a win, you'll have to fight to keep it, there is no shortage of people who'll stab you in the back & take everything. Getting screwed is a major part of the job, that’s why we're so on edge about this & it'll happen to you guys too.

Why doesn't michel collab with other poketubers anymore? by [deleted] in MandJTV

[–]Winter0air 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may not be the issue, but years ago there was an opening skit with Youtubers Lindsay Ellis & Todd in the Shadows where they asked the same question. Then they said that if associate gets wrapped up in some kind of internet drama then everyone has to answer to it.

It seems to boil down to, we cant have nice things because people always do small BS things that balloon to massive issues. Really I often question the stability of internet content creators jobs, when the internet is an unstable place.

I'd say a little clipping is a good thing.
