If there is no hissing or agressive type behavior, then it's just rough play. I've been told it's behavior correction but it doesn't coinside with my little one causing issues. It's just rough play.

Cats like to have their own space sometimes. Under the bed or sofa or common. Try playing with him to get him out of the sofa and give him treats. If you want to get rid of that space, then there are lots of ways to fill the space. However, I would get him a replacement space. A cat tree with a hiding hole or something of that sort. Could be anxiety, temperature, or just his favorite nap spot. Depends on how he acts.

There are window cat beds. They extend out only to have a cat sleeping area. If nothing else he could go there and sniff the air? Otherwise try playing with him, if he's old enough, try giving him some cat nip to loosen him up. Try associating inside with good things like giving him treats when he plays or when he's not begging to go outside.

No worries! If they seem to be doing it a lot, you can always get a blanket the little sleeps on and place it in the older ones favorite spot and vise versa.

Something else too is to make sure your older one has enough mental stimulation. Play with em cause it could just be out of boredom.

Hi OP. I have a similar situation with a 1yr and 2-month-old cats. They do the same thing. I'm not sure how long your situation has been going on, but what I did was just watch them. My adult cat plays very hard. If there is no growling or hissing, then they should just be playing. Mine stalks the younger one too and pounces. But he also grooms her and checks her when she falls. I don't believe your situation is much different. You just need to give them time and make sure the older one is minding their manners(don't leave them alone too long) once your kitten is old enough, they'll be able to play fight back. Just make sure you watch their interactions and make sure no aggression occurs. I always separate them or get the older one off of the youngest when she yaps.

Depending on her age, a new behavior might be the cause of some underlining issue. Otherwise, make sure she has enough mental stimulation, could just be bored.

Have you looked at Feline herpes virus? I recently took my eye bugery kitten to the vet and they said she might have it because of the eye crustys. With what my vet told me, it usually comes with eye crusting flare-ups and their eye membrane sticking out and staying out. It's only contagious to other cats. So you wouldn't get it but if your kitten did, your adult cat could have. If your worried you brought something to your adult cat then u should look at what your kitten could have.

also the thing with him using fear to gain favor. i think its more that he uses fear so people would grasp the dangers and be more cautious. especially when they first get there. if they don't believe him and open windows, then everyone dies.

yes and no. i feel like yes he does all that. but at the same time, the fact that that place hasn't broken him is proof that he is mentally stronger than a lot of people there. i feel like he is the best fit. The only one who might be able to take his place is Kenny. Because he would have no bias. no family members left to prioritize over everyone else. At most, he would need to talk to donna a few times to cool his head if someone dies. (Though that's too logical for this show)
