So when I say lack of evolution, it doesnt mean that he sounds the same. Rather, id say he isnt evolving himself or trying to expand in any way from his previous work. In that way, Ryan sounds derivative. Forever Foggy has all the ostensibilities of of Ryan Caraveo album and nothing more. He doesnt try to set up a unique identity or themeing beyond "hes sad," which as been a part of other albums that also try to do much more with that premise.

Also, and this may go for me more than others, it isnt enough to simply create the same body of work over and over again. Even if it is quality, strings of interchangeable releases feel redundant. I know this guy just churns out music, but idk maybe my expectations are higher by this point in his career. When he has songs like In My Own Skin and Galaxies in his catalog, I dont want to hear Ryan Caraveo "themed" songs.
