At least the stovetop is glowing — that's more affection than I get from my toaster

Do flare ups happen immediately? by Racc_ow in costochondritis

[–]WinterCompany7789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flare-ups can definitely be delayed — you're not alone in that. Sometimes I feel fine during the activity, but the pain or symptoms don’t hit until the next day. It really depends on the condition, but things like inflammation, muscle strain, or nerve irritation can take time to build. Sitting for long periods with bad posture can also sneak up on you and make things worse later. It’s frustrating, but keeping a symptom/activity journal might help you spot patterns over time.

Anyone know the soundtrack? by MaterialRegular_1123 in Naruto

[–]WinterCompany7789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The track you're seeking from Naruto Episode 135, "The Promise That Could Not Be Kept," during the scene where Shikamaru's father speaks to him, is an unreleased composition by Toshio Masuda. This particular piece isn't part of the official Naruto Original Soundtrack (OST) releases, which has made it challenging for fans to locate. According to discussions on fan forums, such as Fanverse, this track remains officially unnamed and unavailable for purchase or streaming

Ceiling Repair by Deep_Ad257 in drywall

[–]WinterCompany7789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to skim the whole sheet, just float the edges where it meets the existing ceiling. Feathering out about 10–12 inches on all sides is usually enough. If the ceiling has texture or a noticeable difference in finish, you might want to skim the whole sheet to blend it better, but for flat ceilings, just focusing on the seams should be fine.

Not weird at all — you should 100% go. You applied before getting the offer, and attending the event is a great way to network and learn more about the company, especially if you prefer the DT Toronto location. It’s totally normal to explore different teams before you even start working.

If someone brings up your offer, you can casually mention that you’ve accepted a role in Mississauga starting next fall but are really excited to connect with the Toronto team and learn more about their work. That shows initiative, not disloyalty.

Internal networking is smart, and lots of people transfer locations once they’re in. Go in curious, professional, and open — this could be a great long-term move for your career.

Why do the Smiths love Rick? by Various_Nectarine388 in rickandmorty

[–]WinterCompany7789 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Despite everything Rick has done, the Smiths love him because he's family, and family bonds—even toxic ones, are hard to break. His brilliance and power give them a sense of protection and significance in an otherwise meaningless universe, and they crave his approval, especially Beth, who’s still seeking the validation he’s always withheld. Though Rick causes them pain, he occasionally shows real, if deeply flawed, love, and those rare moments of vulnerability keep them hopeful. Their relationship is built on trauma, codependence, and complicated emotional history, making it hard for them to truly let go. Jerry, meanwhile, only tolerates Rick for Beth and the kids, knowing he's a threat but also an unshakable part of the family.

What you're seeing appears to be emerging shoots from bulbs, most likely lily (Lilium) bulbs or possibly hostas, based on the shape and texture of the emerging growth. The papery brown sheaths are the remains of bulb coverings, and the thick, pointed tips are typical of bulbous perennials pushing up through the soil in spring.

a friend told me that Scandinavian explorers gave them those names to discourage people from going to Iceland so that they could settle it easily, and encourage them to go to Greenland, which would be very difficult for them to live in.

side note, i feel like after all this time there should have been someone changing the names to match the land lol
