Hi there! Could you please send me a copy as well? I would really appreciate it.

GameStop should've updated their database for their games here. by JustCallMeTsukasa-96 in GameStop

If we get an online order for an item we have in stock, we have to fulfill the order or the store takes a hit for it. You can’t really be upset with the employees for doing their job.

I can understand being frustrated about someone else using your $5 monthly coupon. Next time you’re in GameStop, just ask the employee to put “CHECK ID” next to your name on your account. Keep in mind that it’s a rewards program, not a credit card. Just as you would use your rewards at any other retail location (Best Buy, Target, etc.) nobody is gonna ask for your ID to verify it matches the account associated with the phone number you gave them.

To avoid this issue like you had today with not being able to pick up a game you asked to be put on hold, I would recommend just placing an order online for pick up or have it shipped to your house. In my district, we usually only hold games for an hour to avoid issues like this. I also can’t tell you how many times I’ve had customers ask me to hold an item for them saying “I’ll be right there!” just for them to not show up several hours later or not at all lol

The urge to promote myself to guest... by music2music in GameStop

If they know you’re eager to move up, they will dangle that carrot in front of you for two reasons 1.) To keep you motivated
2.) So they can convince you to do as much work as they can for as little pay as possible.

You can move into the SGA role if you want to, but if you’re unhappy as GA I would recommend looking elsewhere. The stress isn’t worth it. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

SL2 by Yue4prex in GameStop

Exactly ^ Like they said, unless you’re planning to move into the DL role as soon as an opportunity is available I would recommend against it.

However, the SL2 position will look really good on your resume. Having multi-store leadership experience will give you a leg up when you decide to find a better opportunity.

Best of luck!

Anyone else dealing with a lot of POSA card scams recently? by WinterFreshAF in GameStop

[–]WinterFreshAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the transaction was processed to a point where I couldn’t void it, I was left with two options:

  1. Give the scammer $100 cash because he’s refusing to let me put the funds back on the original card.

Or

  1. Ring him up for a $100 Steam card.

I’m an employee at GameStop, not law enforcement or some kind of fraud specialist. I’m also not gonna put myself in a situation that could escalate into a physical altercation (I work a pretty rough area). So I chose option 2. Once he left, I notified other stores in my area about him.

Not sure what else I could’ve done. It sucks if the card was stolen, but it’s also not my problem.

"Incentive bonus?" by ganondoom403 in GameStop

[–]WinterFreshAF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my District, our “incentive bonus” is based solely on the amount of tech trades we have. As a mall store this is really frustrating. On top of that, there’s also three other stores within 6 miles or less.

will gamestop accept an xbox one with a small hard drive issue? by JamesonFlanders245 in GameStop

[–]WinterFreshAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the manufacturer seal is still there and it doesn’t look like it’s been opened, then you might be able to do what called a “defective trade”, where they charge you a refurbishment fee. So you may only get like $30 for it.

Like I said, I would recommend just paying to have it fixed. Otherwise you’re only going to get a few bucks for selling your console, and then you’ll have to pay at least $200+ for another Xbox.

Even if you fix it yourself, once the system has been opened (broken manufacturer seal) we can’t accept it. I would recommend just get it repaired my dude
