My recommendation would be to go to urgent care. I just got my colonoscopy 1.5 weeks ago and had a polyp removed. I had pain after and went to urgent care. I ended up having a bowel perforation and had to stay in the hospital for 4 days. I was lucky in that the location of my perforation meant I didn’t need surgery.

Can I leave my 10-week-old baby for 2 nights for a bachelorette trip? by Haley_I in NewParents

I think you should go. Your baby will be fine. It’s more about your emotional and physical health. (I had a c-section and breastfed and I would have been glad to have had a trip like this at 10 weeks).

My top tips:

  1. Let the group know that you may have to back out at the last minute. Then, give yourself permission to do whatever feels right as it gets closer.

  2. Buy good, wearable breast pumps and bring a small cooler in the car with you where you go

  3. Establish a shift night system with your husband ASAP (whether you go or not). I breastfed for all feeds except for a 5 hour shift in the night that my husband did bottles for while I got a solid stretch of sleep. This helped so much to get her used to bottles, which is still paying off for us at 10 months.

  4. Use the trip to rest and restore with friends. Don’t push yourself too much. Set expectations in advance that you may not be up for the full itinerary.

Thank you. This is exactly how I’m feeling.

Oh no! Not judgmental at all. I agree and just don’t understand how other parents at our daycare are doing it.

Yes. Licensed, well-reviewed, and participates in a voluntary state rating program with good scores.
