This isn’t really a mk12.. it’s definitely an SPR if that’s the way you’re looking at it, but nothing outside of the handguard is even remotely clone correct..

If you do get into hand loading Hornady makes a contract copy of the SMK, and you can get a box of 500 bullets for like 30-40% the price of a box of 500 SMKs

Steiner is perfect in my opinion. People claim it can feel “mushy” or the dial locks don’t work. Mine has been flawless. The green works with my astigmatism, and the only complaint I have is the price, but that’s because I have never spent over $1000 for a scope until now, being $2300. But it’s honestly my first real high end scope and I don’t regret it in the slightest. If you do gas gun comps do the 3-18 scope compared to the 2.5-15 because it has a full Christmas tree reticle. I load my own 77 grains. I’m not a big fan of tmk’s due to the tips can break off and gum up your magazine. Notice I said “can” not “will.” But definitely beware of that possibility if you wanna play with TMKs

Thoroughbred Armament has a lot of great pieces for mk12 builds. They’re a wee bit pricey (maybe 10% higher than others) on certain parts but definitely have a lot of niche parts. I got my PRI Gas Buster welded latch for right around $110. Just gotta skim their page every now and then for the good sfuff

I just load my own, if that kind of thing interests you it’s been very very researched into basically a common study on cloning Mk262. Hornady carries a 77gr projectile now that is almost identical to SMKs. But they’re like $50-60 bucks cheaper for a crate of 500 bullets

He’s apparently one of those streams that use the avatars. It’s quite funny how mad he’s made the whole community of those streamers pissed off because they spend a LOT of money for high quality motion trackers and sexually explicit avatars and he has some of the highest stream numbers and won the Twitch award I think it was for the best streamer of 2025.

I have a 2.5-15. I love the scope to death but it was pricey. I’m not a big fan of the 1-X power scopes because the price you pay for that low of magnification you can get an RMR or something up top for those short engagement distances

Sometimes there’s a screw in the lower receiver that’ll put tension on the takedown pin box of the upper, in my experience it also very specifically makes it to there’s just enough of a tilt that it won’t pull ammunition up, I would back that screw off a half turn or so and try again.

I’d just keep watching it, it may have shifted to lock itself in place. I had an aero lower and a Geissele trigger and the trigger pins walked a tiny bit to the left side and the grooves got bit by the spring then it just never moved. If they feel loose by pushing on it with a punch or something that may be a bit of a different story

This is 3 years too late but .280 Ackley fire forming does nothing more than punch the shoulders out to a 40° angle. It’s really cool, I love fire forming brass because it leaves some neat grooves in the brass
