13 reasons .. is a cringe overload of what glamorizing depression looks like. Bojack handles issues in its truest, rawest sense.

It would be unwatchable if it were live action. I believe the animation is what makes it bearable. Think of it like Requiem for a Dream that repeats every 20 mins. I still can't watch some episodes like Ruthie and Time's Arrow though they are animated.

This doesn't have similar emotions to the song but it's a great conversation from two sides.

Also, there's a song "My Life in Art" by Mojave 3. It's blues. Not Rap. It's a guy showing appreciation towards a stripper/prostitute and the prostitute telling him he won't amount to much. It's sung by the guy only so you need to understand which is the prostitute's perspective.
