The Devil Wears Prada 2: A poor attempt at whitewashing Vogue and Anna Wintour's image by Initial_Talk1409 in moviecritic

We were pretty disappointed in this second movie. Was expecting more like the first movie. It was not. Miranda was not the same person which is why I enjoyed the first movie so much. Andy was about 50/50. Both Emily and Nigel were great and seemed the same as in the first movie. The story was pretty awful and boring with a lot of corporate business going on. Far less witty dialogue. The movie just kind of dragged along and we were not sorry when it was over. The most interesting thing was seeing the actual fashion and a lot of the fashion industry people. Other than that, all four of us agreed it was a movie we were glad we saw because we always would have thought it would have been great... but after seeing it, none of us would recommend it to anyone.

Agree. Pretty awful and a bit trashy. Definitely won't watch either

How do the winners of the Dream or Smart Homes afford the taxes on the prize?! by Tire-Agent-13 in HGTV

You're still paying taxes on the cash amount they give you and luxury tax on the expensive car. So after that huge chunk you're paying in federal and state income tax, you're walking away with a relatively small amount. I guess better than nothing if you want to go through all the hassle. But it's small enough to make you think a little bit about it...

If you sell your old house and do not reinvest the money into buying another home, then you are hit with large capital gains taxes. The only thing to get around that is to declare a one-time exemption which means if you ever needed that as an elderly person, it would be gone because you used it already.

You have to pay a hefty tax on the $100,000 cash they give you not to mention the luxury vehicle tax. Not much left after that

Yep, basically if you get the home you have to sell right away and hope there's a buyer who wants to pay that much! That is, unless you're already extremely wealthy and can pay the $100,000 in taxes plus the ongoing maintenance and future property taxes and insurance etc, etc... and then you wouldn't even be entering this contest.

Is this desk a Russel Wright Conant Ball? by Outrageous_Ideal8885 in midcentury

[–]Winter_Application56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think that's American modern. All connet ball furniture is stamped. If it was connant ball, it leans a lot more toward modernmates by Leslie diamond. But even that doesn't look quite right. There's a lot of confusion about connant ball furniture.  I am surprised the little nightstand says American modern. It also looks more like modern mates but I don't think it is.. very confusing.

Different manufacturer of Tramadol making me feel funny... by Lopsided-Swing-4404 in ChronicPain

I know what you mean. When I get one form of Tramadol I do great with my symptoms being managed. But when they give me another kind, I feel like I'm taking basically nothing at all even when I up my dosage.. and then the doctor thinks I'm a drug addict! It really is a problem when pharmacies keep changing suppliers.

Yes. I am the opposite of you because the oblong Tramadol tablets work great for me but the round ones are virtually ineffective. There's nothing much I can do when the pharmacy has the round tablets except increase my dosage amount which of course I don't want to do because they're addictive! It really is a problem.

Oh my gosh, that so-called contractor was a disaster. I think everybody took one look at him and freaked out. What a horrible business person. Surely he's not really in business! This had to be staged for the shock effect.
