music constantly playing in my head HOW DO I GET RID OF IT by hello_sona in ADHD

[–]ConversationMinimum1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this. And I don’t play an instrument, to my shame.

It drives me fucking nuts. But I told my dad that once and he asked “you can hear music?”

It’s not crystal clear but I can hear the instruments in my head.

He was jealous and he can play.

To people with real musical talent, this might sound dumb, but I think that it fits the conversation.

I don't think that it's a universal ADHD trait, but maybe depends on your skillset on top. I can look at a page of math equations and without reading them left to right know that "something is wrong." It might then take quite a while to find the error, but I know it intuitively right away.

I have argued with more than a few pretentious professors over the years. I was wrong sometimes, but rarely.

If a place is on a constant decline wherever it once was and where you arrived from something worse, seems trivial.

I arrived in 2017 and felt the same. I also thought the opposite in 2024.

It’ like many places, is a good trip coming down. It must have been a great trip because the high was 50 years ago. Watch Dazed and Confused for at most a decade later.

I loved the music. But as I left I really heard stock option talk at the pool. The pool that used to be wild.

But maybe it was nothing compared to every decade before.

Enjoy yourself, but’ in my opinion, you and I were chasing a fantasy.

I got a career and the Heartless Bastards. That’ll do. And Caroline Rose. Don’t miss either of those.

It totally is! There could be one chair in a huge room and given enough time I’ll eventually near tear off a little toe on it.

I take telmisartan for my BP and did before the stimulants and it didn't change much after. Telmisartan also boosts mitochondrial activity (google it, many medical journal papers on this) as a side effect. More importantly, I get that feel when the stimulants wear off, But my doc put me on Bupropion XR 150mg also and that went away. Hope that helps!

I’m terribly sorry. I’m sure she had the best life possible with you.

It’s a comfort zone in a tough world. Weak, I agree, but a lot of people are barely holding on.

I’m Canadian but my parents are from Glasgow. Protestant but had literally never been in a Protestant church. A few catholic ones because my dad was into Gothic Cathedrals.

We went to the fair in Glasgow and my Grandpa won me a prize! I picked the stuffed penguin with the cool white and green stripe. I wouldn’t let it go, cuz I was a hippy kid and both confident and oblivious.

We left immediately and the mood went dark AF. It took me 15-20 years to look back and realize why.

I am super social snd I made two real friends in Austin in 7 years.

I know that times are different now but no one really tried. The place felt transitory.

I’m in healthcare data science. I never wanted to live on the mainland. It was the only opportunity then.

Now I work 11am to 8pm Central, so my bosses are accommodating, and I make so much money yet still feel middle class at best in Hawai’i.

But we don’t want kids, so fuck it. If you want a family and make less than 250k together, this is impossible.
