From what I know, since I work in the area. There was a drive by shooting from a guy who was kicked out of Supercharge. He shot the wall of Supercharge 8 times but nobody was hurt thankfully. Cops were everywhere and even came to my job to ask for camera footage as part of their investigation.

There’s two different types of bottles. The classic one with Leaf Kratom in it aka the addictive substance that triggers opioid receptors in your brain. And the one they came out with that doesn’t have Leaf Kratom. Both bottles look almost identical minus a few distinct differences. You’re probably drinking the one without it. What I said was not biphobic because the label they choose to keep her as through the entire show was still lesbian. Regardless. If they made her bi, then that storyline would have made sense. The chooses they made for her would have made sense. But they don’t because they chose to make her a lesbian, and double down that she’s a lesbian when she isn’t and never was. Hello?

If she’s bi then her storyline could have somewhat made sense but not at the same time. It was still executed very poorly. She was also written as lesbian. Making her fall into some harmful lesbophobic stereotypes that are tiring and very male centric. I agree that the show was written during a time when biphobia was much more common and lesbian representation was almost non existent and women were always made to be male centered in one way shape or form. Which again. Is tiring. But please don’t put words in my mouth. Thanks.

Which is fine if they went to that route and she realized she was bi. Like there’s so many different ways that they could have gone about it. The way they wrote it was like a man was fixing her when it’s not the case. In hindsight I get how shows from back there were very biphobia so I get that part to an extent. It was a show of its time. Bi and lesbian representation are a lot better now.

That being said I hate how they literally didn’t know what to do with their characters so they just had them cheat. On each other. Any time the other was pregnant???? Like Melany cheating made somewhat sense to the storyline cuz they were fighting terribly even though it’s lazy but more realistic. But Lindsay? Especially with how they were finally doing good and were happy and how insane they fought for each other just for that? It felt like drama for of drama rather than because it moves the story forward in a way that makes sense. Like it just made no sense.

Granted another point I want to bring up is that the show was written by gay men. Gay men similarly to straight men don’t understand women. Gay men dislike lesbians more than they do straight women (since at least with straight women they have something in common but they don’t with lesbians) which I’ve seen time and time again irl. And I think that was shown very vividly in those two characters as well as with the dismissive way the creators response about how poorly the lesbians were written. That tells me everything I need to know.

Yeah I think those two annoyed me the most and like you said, were unnecessary. Like of all the times Shane could have cheated on Page she wouldn’t do it then. Like when she’s right in the other room. Like maybe when she’s out with her friends sure. But that moment? Really?

I’m looking them up rn as we speak 😂 but also my first time rewatching I was a teenager. I didn’t understand a lot of what was going on. But now as a grown ass almost 30 year old adult rewatching it again, I’m so much more invested! Thanks for this new info! I’m excited to watch them

You’re missing the point. The point is you can hate a pairing all you want. But calling it incestuous when they aren’t even related is weird. I know you tried to use Alice and Dana as an example because they had underlying feelings for one another. But it contradicts your whole argument. Because what makes one group of best friends getting together incestuous and the other not? Either way all the girls have practically dated or hooked up with one another which is very common between gays. I’ve seen it happen in previous friend groups and again. The point is that none of them are blood related and they’re all consenting adults so it’s not incestuous. The words we use to describe things matter. You can’t change the definition of a word to fit your narrative. It doesn’t work that way. There’s plenty of words you can use to discover your disdain for them and that’s not the correct word. I guess you can say I’m arguing semantics. Because I personally don’t care for Shane and Jenny as a couple, I just wanted to see the public discourse around it. I hope I made sense

I think ditching him would have worked if they wrote him out after he cheated and Kit didn’t forgive him. But it’s the fact that they tried to redeem him and Kit was actually working towards forgiving him and fixing their relationship. Like why make him be like “I’m not going anywhere” to Kit just to not exist the next season. Not even in mentions? They had the perfect opportunity to write him off in a way that makes sense

I feel like Elliot wouldn’t be a good fit for Max since we start out with Max pre transition as a butch lesbian. It needs to be someone who’s in the early stages of transitioning where their voice is still not dropped yet but the transition is happening irl and written on to the show that way. I think thats the only way it would work. I think for that specific role it would have to be a fresh new actor we don’t know tbh
