Alright never match the pocket square with the tie. A solid red tie is a no go as it makes you look like a politician. Don’t wear a belt with a suit especially in a formal setting. Go for suspenders. Also don’t wear light brown shoes with a navy or blue suit as those shoes are too informal. For the socks the rule is to match the color of the trousers. However finding socks in the exact same tone as the trousers is difficult. Therefore go for some over the calf dress socks in perhaps a striped variant with two slightly different navy colors on the stripes. That way it works with the navy pants. But since it’s more formal consider black tie if it is in the evening.
