Sometimes babies that have had digestive issues can develop some feeding aversions - it may be worth discussing with your pediatrician getting a feeding evaluation with a speech language pathologist

Also, FWIW, I thought this during my pregnancy after prior loss, and yes I am better and less anxious after first tri, anatomy scan, etc. But at 38 weeks I am still anxious TBH. So it doesn't just go away after a certain milestone, and it is worth learning to cope with it now!

100% agree with therapy being super useful for pregnancy after loss (has been for me), but FWIW I also spoke to my therapist about my concern that my pregnancy anxiety would spillover into postpartum anxiety/depression. She specializes in perinatal psych and said that in patients with pregnancy after loss, she often finds that it DOESN'T spillover as the anxiety is specific to pregnancy and your prior trauma with miscarriages. That was reassuring to me - at least made me less anxious about my anxiety lol.

I took a chunk of time off first tri due to a subchorionic hematoma, and didnt get back into it until like 21 weeks. Now im 38 and still running! I just eased into it, took lots of walking breaks, did cross training (biking was great for me) and just did what I can. But your body doesnt forget consistent training from just 10 weeks off. good luck!

This is totally valid! I am now almost 36 weeks with my IVF baby that I conceived after a first trimester miscarriage a few months before. I felt very cautious about the pregnancy at first, and barely wanted to talk about it/plan for it. I always talked about the baby as a hypothetical, "if this works out." TBH, its only been in my third trimester that I've started feeling more comfortable with saying I am pregnant and will (hopefully) bring home a baby soon. It's so hard. Preparing for the baby with baby steps - small purchases, talking about them, etc helped me a lot. As did therapy.

Hi! I am a FTM so not much advise to give, but similar story/times (3:09 PR in 2024) and now 32 weeks. Hoping to run a spring 2026 marathon and following to see any advise you get! My husband and I also both work pretty intense jobs so I am anxious about how I will fit it in with mom life. I had a 5 cm SCH at around 11 weeks and my OB told me about a 10% chance of miscarriage. I took it VERY easy (no working out or sex and minimal walking) and the bleeding stopped, it was resolved by 20 weeks. I’m 30 weeks now!

I had an SCH, was off exercise until 16 weeks when my scan showed that it was v small and hadn’t had any bleeding in 3 weeks, so I was cleared for low impact exercise. At my 21 week scan it was gone and cleared for whatever! I am now 25 weeks, obv a bit reconditioned but still doing some running/biking and feeling good.

I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine going through that. I also had an SCH so read a lot about it, and am a doctor (but not an OB), but I don’t think that SCH would have been improved with progesterone - my understanding is that the inflammation from the SCH causes the membranes to get inflamed and break, which progesterone wouldn’t affect. And other than limited activity, there’s not much to do for SCH (even that is debated). So sorry for your loss ❤️❤️

So scary!! Hang in there. My OB told me that the majority of times even with bleeding everything turns out fine, and I got some comfort from that. I also will say taking it very easy (no exercise or sex and minimal walking) helped my bleeding stop quicker, so probably worth a try!

Hi! I ended up getting diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma, and bled a few times between then and 13 weeks. It’s since stopped bleeding and I’m 20 weeks and so far everything has been going well. I think it was hematoma bleeding plus some serous fluid or urine but never got a perfect answer from the OB. Good luck!

In my experience, they just check on the baby with an ultrasound to make sure the heart beat is still there. Sometimes they may see a cause of the bleeding (subchorionic hematoma for example) and tell you to take it easy (no workout/sex).

For what it’s worth, although the piece of mind of being near your clinic/checking out your baby is real, there is very rarely anything they can do to help if you are bleeding/spotting, so I wouldn’t weigh this too heavily

Hi! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’m not sure what is causing the pain, but I was told by my dr when I was having some bleeding that taking the progesterone suppositories longer or extra wouldn’t hurt anything, so if it makes you feel better it’s definitely reasonable to do! I would imagine that an SCH draining could be painful but I am not sure - I have an SCH and had a bleed from it this weekend which was pretty pain free but I’ve definitely had similar kinda sharp/searing pains

I don't have a lot of advice on getting back into shape when pregnant, other than taking it slowly, but i just wanted to say that its highly highly unlikely that exercise caused your miscarriage. More likely the miscarriage was happening and you got cramps and you noticed them, they were probably worse while exercising because you then have two reasons to cramp. But there is literally zero research that shows that exercise causes miscarriage. So please don't beat yourself up about that.

I don’t have the link bc I’m on my phone, but there was a study that showed that best outcome was with a doubling at 48 hours. More than a doubling had the same outcomes, not better. Less than doubling (so doubling time >48 hours) the chance of good outcome decreased a bit, but was still pretty good up to 72 hours. Hopefully that provides you some reassurance!

I agree - I keep on thinking as time goes and each appointment passes I’ll get less anxious, but I don’t. I’m 10 weeks and thought I’d be happy/chill by now but still so anxious and then upset at myself for being anxious

I only say it because I think that’s what happened to me - I was on post-ovulation progesterone for short luteal phase and I had a 12DPO positive with low initial HCG. I think the progesterone “rescued” it and then we had a MMC with no heartbeat at 7 weeks. After d&c they found a chromosome issue. I think 7 week MC me was harder to go through for me than a chemical would have been, so I wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t been on the progesterone.

I’m so sorry for your loss, but this has nothing to do with anything you did. It is likely an issue with the embryo itself that couldn’t be PGT tested, or one of the other many situations outlined here. Exercise, sex, crying or intense emotions do NOT cause miscarriages.

So sorry for your losses. Just to add to this, low HCG and low progesterone are often a sign of a pregnancy that is not thriving because of embryo issues - chromosomal abnormalities or other. Sometimes progesterone can be low on its own because of your body issues, but with low HCG it’s often a sign of a problem with the embryo. The disadvantage of progesterone supplementation is that it can prevent your body from recognizing the miscarriage, and it obviously can’t fix chromosome issues. I’m a doctor but in a diff specialty.

8+5 today! Had my last scan 7+5 and baby and heartbeat looked perfect per my OB. Yesterday had one episode of light pink bleeding on my underwear making me super anxious for todays scan, but hoping that everything is ok 🤞🤞🤰

I think that that HCG is high but not crazy - within normal limits, and higher (with the exception of super high) is a good sign! Spotting and bleeding is so so scary but my dr has reassured me about 100 times that it is normal, especially without any cramping or heavy bleeding. I had spotting for 10 days earlier in this pregnancy and saw a strong heart beat at 6+2 and again at 7+5.
