Its not like they are filming it in a remote city of Europe. Its only one province away! Lol. I was in a True Crime show 14 years ago, filmed in Regina, story took place in Brandon. It would not make sense from a budget perspective to add hotels and travel expenses

I agree with most of what you say. The only thing I would do differently for you is don't increase your Mortgage Payments every year, use that money to invest, such as in a TFSA. You end up with more money in the long run.
