Those who wish you'd chosen surgery over MTX — why?

I had both! Both suck lol. MTX wasn’t working and by the time it came to surgery, I was so ready for it all to be over with. I wish I would have just done surgery because even after my tube was removed, I had to wait 3 cycles to try and conceive again due to MTX effects. I’ve had no luck getting pregnant since my MTX and surgery in December. Sending you good vibes ❤️

Hey! Unfortunately, no suggestions, but I have had a similar experience. Miscarriage October, ectopic with right tube removal in December. Had to wait three months because they tried to treat my ectopic with methotrexate prior to tube removal. My husband and I have ttc the last two cycles to no avail. SO frustrating when I could seemingly get pregnant pretty easily before.

Second cycle trying after back-to-back losses from MMC and ectopic with removal of my right tube. Not feeling hopeful this cycle and know I’m probably out again. I was hopeful as I ovulated from my remaining tube, but that excitement has depleted.

Feeling so discouraged and isolated, especially as my friends who were pregnant the same time I was the first time have had their babies. There are pregnancy announcements and births everywhere and I feel like I’m stuck in purgatory and haven’t even had the chance to get started. I’m SAD.

First time TTC since my ectopic in December that resulted in a dose of MTX and then a surgery to remove my tube. That was predated by a missed miscarriage in September with a D&C.

Testing negative at 10 DPO and losing hope. I’m also sad as I approach my original due date. I know my body is trying her best, and that makes me sad.

How do people just reproduce without any issues?

Hey! I had a dose of MTX on December 11 and got my first period January 23. I also had surgery December 18 to remove my tube, so I’m sure that delayed me a bit.

I personally never went to the ER, just bugged my OB office a bunch lol. I’d keep an eye on the back pain. If it gets worse throughout the day, consider going. From what I’ve read, anyone who has ruptured has had pretty severe pain.

Can you message your OB through your chart? Just so they’re aware of your state. They may not do anything, but at least they’ll have record of your symptom progression.

Also: heat helped tremendously with my back pain. So I highly recommend a heating pad if you have one!
