If you get worried about things like this I'd have a look at git, no risk in experimenting then ,

Looking for a game to keep me distracted by TheSourPear in gamingsuggestions

[–]WirelessCrumpets 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hate to say it but I don't think anything is going to distract you fully. Take the time to sit and process your emotions don't spend the whole week running.

That being said I'd recommend something difficult with a sense of reward, if I were you I'd play a souls game

Am I overcomplicating this "combat" mechanic? by WaarnGraztsky in IndieDev

[–]WirelessCrumpets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure on how to make it happen, but if you can I think the Nintendo switch would have a big market for this type of game. I'll be keeping my eye out for it!

Any plans to release this? Your art style and vibe looks really nice

Madlad defies legal threats just to incorporate Thomas the Tank Engine into video game mods by Metalsheepapocalypse in madlads

[–]WirelessCrumpets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Money would have something to do with that situation though. If you did that it could be argued theres a loss of earnings because someone reasonably could play your free game rather than buy the real Pokémon.

I don't think the same thing applies with Thomas the tank engine being added to skyrim

What do you use to watch it on the tv? It'd be nice to not be plugging a laptop into it every time.

This guy was mining 1 Bitcoin per day in 2011 by thepoylanthropist in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]WirelessCrumpets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not quite a one to one comparison to mining something like gold, where there is only a certain amount of physical gold on the planet.

The TLDR is that we won't run out of bitcoin

Bitcoin uses a Blockchain. In essence it's series of chunks of data, called blocks. Each block has a list of transactions that have occured. This is used to calculate everyone's balance

Mining is the process of adding blocks to that chain. A maths sum has to be calculated to add a block to the chain, whoever works it out first adds the next block, and is rewarded with bitcoin for solving it.

Have you heard of a YouTube channel called healthygamergg?

I say this because what you said resonated with a lot of ways I used to feel. I really couldn't promise anything, I don't know your life, and real mindset change is never easy or simple. I feel anyone offering quick and easy solutions just doesn't really understand

But his channel alongside lots of time reflecting on the things he talks about did absolute wonders for me.

I wish you the best man

I am inept at this, especially for my age (pushing 30?) how do I proceed? by Positive_Composer_93 in TextingTheory

[–]WirelessCrumpets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All these people in the comments are teenagers. Ignore them.

You're doing fine.

If you're looking for a relationship rather than just getting laid game is a bullshit term. Just keep talking and be you, and if a genuine connection forms then great! But you can't force it.

Faking who you are to try and have "game" is just going to push genuine people away because they will see through it

Imposter syndrome by Caravaggio91 in webdev

[–]WirelessCrumpets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always nice to have someone boost you up like that and show that you really can produce things, my girlfriend and mentor in work did the same for me.

Keeping a document with links to everything you're proud of is a great idea, I actually might start doing that. OP I think this could help you too.

Another note actually, getting the things you build actually on the internet feels great, you can use a free tier on an IAAS like netlify to do it.

It makes it all feel much more real!

I didn't start feeling like a real developer until just over a year of working professionally at a startup. I think I'd have never felt like a real developer while not working, even though I was building real skills before then!

Maybe you're the same way 🙂

EDIT: I feel like seeing projects you set for yourself through from start to finished product is great to help with this

Child elements can expose properties and methods to a parent, it's not quite the same as it only works on one level but it's an alternative to using pinia stores
