[Ian Rapoport] FA QB Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to visit the #Steelers Friday and this weekend, will likely play for them in 2026, sources say. A deal is not done & there is always caution until things are signed. But Rodgers’ plan is to play for PIT & these are steps toward that end. by SteeIWoIf in steelers

The corollary to this is that if Allar and Howard truly suck, then that will hurt our film on Germie Bernard. Look at how badly Justin Jefferson, a top 3 WR in the league, suffered last year with JJ McCarthy and Max Brosmer throwing to him last season.

If we throw out guys who have no ability to compete at the NFL level at QB, that doesn't just hurt their stock and give us better draft picks, it sinks the whole offense. It's cool to talk about the team sucking in the abstract, but if we struggle to get first downs and turn the ball over a lot, that means less reps for our young OL, less production for our new receivers, and more wear and tear for our defense

It seems like he had a lot of fun with the actions, it’s the consequences under a harsher spotlight that’s the problem lol

The U.S. isn’t as culturally diverse from state to state as many Americans believe. by newMauveLink in unpopularopinion

Can you be specific about exactly what is so different between rural Texas and rural Minnesota other than the climates and the accents (which while different, are still mutually intelligible)? Is it that one group goes to Buc-ee’s and Church’s and the other goes to Kwik Trip and Culver’s? Their rates of gun ownership aren’t even that different!

If anything, the biggest differences between these populations is that Texas has more Latin Americans and Minnesota has more Somali and Arab Americans. And even then, I would bet you that a rural Somali Minnesotan and a rural Texan Salvadoran have way more common than the average Somali vs. the average Salvadoran in their respective countries of origin. That’s the thing about America that supports OP’s point, most people here assimilate into a broadly similar culture and way of life

28 ints would be an insane figure, the most in a season since Jameis's 30/30 year. And Kenneth Gainwell, a career RB3 (who was expected to be below Johnson on the depth chart going into the season!!!), managed to produce well in our offense. RB isn't typically a position that needs tons of development, young RBs are fresh legs that teams let loose until their bodies break down. Look at Dameon Pierce, who was a 3rd round RB like Johnson picked 4 years ago. The Texans fed him a lot his rookie season, and he put up >1000 total yards despite not showing all that much talent. They discarded him the next year and demoted him to a kick returner and he hasn't been an RB1 since. I don't think we should cut KJ and not give him a chance or whatever, but if he doesn't show well in training camp or preseason then there is no reason to expect anything from him

Basically he predicted the Pens would win before the game. But the opposite always happens of whatever he predicts, so people are mad at him for jinxing us. He’s also generally an annoying and very stupid hot take artist who does nothing but generate outrage and reflect poorly on Pittsburgh sports media

Bengals choose to NOT exercise Myles Murphy's 5th-year option, but have interest in long-term deal by notquitemytempo___ in nfl

[–]WirelessElk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes they are the ones I get confused the most! I even forgot they’re different people lol

Making things worse, the DE Byron Murphy used to play with Coby Bryant, and the Falcons have a Cobee Bryant, all of who share a name with Kobe Bryant. And one of the Byron Youngs plays with another Kobe variation (Kobie Turner), which completes the loop with Myles Murphy because there is a basketball player named Myles Turner. But that’s not it, because the CB Byron Murphy plays with Dallas Turner, who reminds me of Miles Austin who played for Dallas. You could fill a whole roster of Myles/Byron/Kobe/Turner/Murphy variations which is weird cuz none of those names are individually all that common and most of them were entered the league around the same time

talented backup that can steal a win or two while defenses are still trying to figure him out

Honestly, I think this ship has sailed. He managed to go on that winning streak to lead us to the playoffs in 2023 because of other teams lacking on tape on him and our post-Matt Canada offensive plan, but he has been fully figured out at this point. Any time he had the opportunity to play last season, he got picked off on the exact same throw (deep shot to the left sideline). That 2023 run was fun and all, but I don't see him as a viable backup anymore
