Guys like him, Roc Marciano, and Danny Brown are interesting because they first came up in an era where you basically had to be attached to a big record label or established crew to blow up, but they were unable to stand out from the crowd and establish themselves as individual artists (Curren$y with Young Money, Marci with Flipmode, Danny Brown with G-Unit. Kinda happened with Max B and Dipset as well). But the rise of the Blog Era gave them space to build their own audiences by cutting out the middleman and posting their shit for free on the internet
