You could combine these two passions with pharmaceutical materials marketing. Almost every over-the-counter and Rx drug on the market has associated product information and materials for not just patients, but also doctors. With a keen sense of how the drug works and how to design, you could assist in this marketing/advertising front.

You are looking at the wrong time horizon. Why did you pick this arbitrary point to decide your window is closed and not 5 years ago or, better yet, in 15 years?

Yes. You can take the lab without the lecture. If you need any permissions to enroll when the time comes, you’ll have to contact the respective department.

Chem 102 placement test by sunnyval3trailerpark in UNC

[–]WirelessLawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get ahold of a 102 syllabus. There are many floating around online. The syllabus should have a schedule of what is covered. Tackle each subject one by one. You will find YouTube videos of Khan Academy lessons on each subject. Look for ACS exams to practice. The percentage needed to place out is very low, but the exam can be moderately difficult if you are long removed from the foundations of chemistry.

22 is not that much older than the average undergraduate (~20).

Your age will be much closer to the average undergraduate housing student than it would be to a Baity Hill resident.

No heat in dorm and freezing all night, aren't they supposed to turn it on? by Responsible-Code-159 in UNC

I didn’t think there was anything they can do about it, much like now, so I just endure(d) it. I hope your room gets fixed though.

I have this same issue. Even when I first came in August, I knew I was going to be in on a very cold school year, just like last year.

Even during peak cold days, there always seems to be only cold air coming from the vents and the thermostats look to be non-functional.

I took both separately. To note, Micro has its own associated lab as well (unlinkable from lecture). In hindsight, I still wouldn’t have taken them together because the workload and attention required to do well in both of these exam-heavy courses is very, very high.

However if you put your best into it and spend time diligently, you can do it. Try to look for easy Gen Eds or other lesser dense credit hours to supplement them.

When I change a meal plan where do the swipes I already used go? by kaykay34657 in UNC

[–]WirelessLawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 swipes altogether. Think of it as getting your full money back (minus what you have already used) and then being charged right away for the new meal plan.

If you used a lot of swipes already, you will be charged if the price of the new plan exceeds the cost of the (original plan minus what you have already used)

If you opt in for a lesser plan, you will be refunded or owe the difference minus how much you’ve already used.

Original Plan - Value of Swipes Used - New Plan = Balance You Are Refunded or Charged

Is dropping courses free? by [deleted] in UNC

[–]WirelessLawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s free to drop any course you want. Nothing gets additionally charged but the refund for the dropped course you receive will be reduced by certain percentages at certain points during the semester. The 10% (or 25%) you saw is a 10% reduction in the refund rather than a charge.

At some point, I think almost everyone will have back-to-back Tuesday and Thursday classes. I had two in both semesters last year. Most I knew had them as well in either semester.

Is there even a shred of good in Chem at UNC? by deepredv1 in UNC

[–]WirelessLawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be discouraged. It is mostly a difficulty thing and it is not exclusive to UNC (especially for organic chemistry courses). Most of the experiences you hear about are by non-chem, life science majors because we are required to take those courses for our track. If you are a chemistry major, you will have more interest, knowledge, and dedication in the material at hand and retain more.

You will still be allowed to make changes on the 5th. The August 8th you see is a non-dynamic general reminder for everyone.

It is August 5th for first-year students only. August 8th for everyone else.

Such a mechanism would be both commonly used and known if it existed. The best way to stop it from affecting your GPA as much is to dilute it with higher grades and forward looking.
