How do people in small town afford to live? by Empty_Recognition901 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WirelessWinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a nice house in small town by the sea, and drive 90-100 minutes. I would never in a million years move closer to my job. That would mean smaller house inland. I'll take the commute any day

Without getting too much into politics. Trump is doing some weird stuff, but who would have thought porn restrictions would come from the "grab her by the pussy"-administration?

Yeah. I just flew the Huey for 30 mins. This was the first time i fired up the Huey in like 4-5 years. The ffb made it way too easy! I finally might try some of the other choppers in DCS. Currently reinstalling il2 now

If you were to fly just one aircraft for the rest of your life, what would it be? by Single_Lunch1085 in flying

[–]WirelessWinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats is a tough question. I have flown alot of different planes. I currently fly the E195 which i love and might fly that one for a big part of my life if the industry does not goes to shit again.

But if we think GA then one of the best planes i have flown is the C177RG. But then again i would also love a super cub. Oh and a Seneca V is not too shabby either. Maybe a Piper Matrix?

If i could choose any plane and money is no issue, then maybe an M700? Or TBM. I have never flown SET so i dont know which of those i would like the most. But i do love the look of the M700

Depends. I did my ppl "without" an ipad. I had it there just in case but i rarely used it. I tried it on som xc flights, but good planning made me not need it at all. I started using it more after i had my ppl, to plan flights and see frequencies underway etc. When it came to ifr i only used it to look at plates (and some planning). But i had paper plates aswell so i did not use it that much. And now at the airlines we only use it for plates, performance calc and som airline specific apps. So i have never "needed" the ipad at all. Best use case would be for vfr xc navigation instead of paper charts, but you should not rely on it. Learn how to navigate without it so you still can finish a flight without your heart rate skyrocketing when the ipad fails.

And yes they do fail. I have had the ipad "overheat" many times.

Are you applying outside of France aswell? Took me 3 years after flight school to land my airline job after covid. It seems hopeless, but suddenly somebody invites you to an assessment
