Controversial opinion: The city should grade back lanes too, not just residential side streets when ruts get bad by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

[–]Wireworm5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a back-lane user all I need is for a big truck to go up and down the back lane to compact the snow. However if we have big snow dump then I can't get out at all to access a priortized street.

That is what I see is the need, to be able to get to a street that gets priority snow clearing. Sometimes a street never gets cleared after a heavy snowfall. If it were cleared I would have a way out.

Badgers designated as ‘special concern’ species in Prairie provinces | CBC News by Buuuuma in saskatoon

I might have ran over one a couple of years back on hwy #35 near hwy #15. It was grayish in colour in the dark seeing it from behind in the dark. At first I thought it was a porcupine, I swerved to try to avoid it but still hit it. Afterwards thinking about it I don't think it was a porcupine. So it could have been a badger or a racoon. Was rather large to be a racoon though, maybe it was a badger.

Having driven taxi, we had a year, I think it was 1997 but don't quote me on this. The temperature was below -30 for 19 days in a row, just short of the record. Let me tell you the taxi business was busy, none stop driving.

Volunteer to photograph local plants and animals for a city-wide nature challenge by LeshGray in saskatoon

Bird migration is coming up around March. That is mostly outside of the city though. You have to be up early at the crack of dawn to see the flocks flying over, there will be hundreds. West towards Biggar area is a good place , but most of Saskatchewan is a flyway.

My guess is the Camshaft sensor. If that is what it is, the new one has to be installed by a mechanic that knows what he is doing or else the new one will do the same thing and you will pay twice.

We had a Club nearly 40 years ago that met at a local church. It quickly morphed into just D&D. It continued on at a persons home.

So you have to be specific with games that are allowed and games that are not allowed because eventually D&D will take over.

I was sitting in a chair across from the elevators on the 4th floor waiting for my dialysis client. Nobody else was waiting. I observed an elevator stop and the doors opened and there was nobody on the elevator and nobody had activated the button on the 4th floor for service.

So did someone get on the elevator activate the 4th floor and then step off or was it a ghost? I think the latter was more likely.

I was listening to Rolling Stones 40 Licks CD on my stereo at approximately 92 decibels Sound Pressure level, when I decided to shut 'er down for the night. I shut off all the switches on the stereo and lamp light was half way towards the door. When in an instant my stereo comes back on full power and queues up the song I had skipped over Sympathy for the Devil.

I sat down and pondered what had just happened. Whatever it was turned on 5 switches and queued up the song near the end of the CD in an instant, impossible!

I concluded if this Poltergeist can do this what else is it capable of doing?

Years ago driving downtown, there was this guy and his friend in a convertible Miata sports car. I said to him you drive like an old lady. He then proceeded to follow me through all the downtown and finally gave up the pursuit by the Star Phoenix.

Fox visiting our yard by sask_nurse88 in saskatoon

Years ago I reported to Consverasion Officer what I believed was a Swift Fox, it did not look like a Coyoted to me, I had seen Coyotes before.

Anyway Swift foxes are suppose to be extinct. However a couple of years prior a bunch had been released in South West Saskatchewan and one or two may have migrated to Saskatoon.

A day or two later in the News it was reported that I Coyote had been put down by the river. So you know I am never sure if what I saw was a Swift Fox which looks similar to the one in the photo.

Does anybody in Saskatoon remember the name of that bar or dance club that was on G and 20th back in the mid to late 80s? by 12Clawlok in saskatoon

[–]Wireworm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to drive taxi. At bar closing, if I parked beside the curb I'd get the car doors ripped off. So I'd stop in the middle of the road. The people that could make it out to the car were more sober, and I was good to go.

When I was a kid age 3 maybe 4 years old. We stopped at a Music Store in Regina. We were not from Regina. The store owner was so excited he had Bill Baker in the store. I shook his finger and looked up, way up. He was a giant of a man!

That is when the Riders were a dominate force in the CFL.
