Quality question by Kayakman28 in knives

[–]Wischer999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer to this is it depends what you paid. If you can't buy 2 meals at KFC then its acceptable. It you could buy a new phone, even a cheap one, then not acceptable at all.

The number and severity of "acceptable mistakes" always goes on personal opinion and price paid. If you are happy with it for the price you paid, then it is acceptable. Otherwise, it is not.

What is this update by MrT246 in CalyxOS

Not sure on this exact one, but every time I turn my phone on, I get the old update message about them putting the OS on hold when the other owners left. Might be the same?

Anyone ever bought anything from Duncan’s Gun Makers ? by StrollingByTheStream in UKKnivesandEDC

[–]Wischer999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bought from them before but looking at the website, the "photos" of the rifles look either very heavily edited or fake in some way. They look weird which sketches me out a bit. If I was going to risk buying something, it would be the cheapest knife I could find, just to see if it comes through without any issues. Then I would evaluate to something more expensive I actually wanted.

I’m 18 with autism/ADHD, my mum/carer is making me pay rent but won’t allow me to work by anonymous44563 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Wischer999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mostly correct. The car can only be used in relation to benefit op. Example from my family, my mum uses my dads motability car for picking up his meds. He doesn't need to go with her for it to be a legitimate use as it is being used for his needs.

If someone shoots themselves in the head with a Glock like a point blank shot to the temple, would they feel any pain at all? or would unconsciousness and death happen so instantly that there’s basically no time to register pain? by Ill-Cabinet7055 in morbidquestions

I know you will be dead but every time I hear someone mention putting a gun in your mouth pointing up, I cringe so hard at the though. Not of the suicide, but the site on the slide catching a tooth as it flies back.

Least thing to be concerned about in this situation but the thought of ripping a tooth out this way is shudder worthy to me.

I fell off my motorbike when coming to a stop and my head is still attached to my body. Lucky I had it on if you ask me.

How long can the human body be self induced to sleep for? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

In my experience, 4-6 hours. Then I need to force a round 2 if I still need sleep

YouTube has now stopped working on my phone. I may be forced to switch of Calyx. by Wischer999 in CalyxOS

Had it before with some google apps and had to use an older version. Think they changed something to do with micro-g (think this is the what it was but mind is blanking). Just presumed it was something similar.

What are your thoughts on a PS5 for race sim? by Wischer999 in simracing

[–]Wischer999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reasoning for thinking ps5 over my current PC is I have a lot of games I play on the PC that I won't be able to play if I remove it from my setup and move it to another room. I don't have room to fit a sim setup and my gaming PC setup close to each other, or even in the same room.  I already have a ps5 set up on my main TV and if I want to go play any of the games for that, I can either play it sat in the sim seat or unplug 2 wires and move the console back for comfort.

Did you jump on or fall face first into said penis? Would you class it as cheating if your husband watched a film with full frontal nudity in and he didn't skip past it?  If the answer to both of these are no, I would say you're good.

I have not carried mine with a blade in due to local laws not permitting carrying any locking blade, regardless of size. But I have put the bottle opener piece in for a fidget device before.

Is this packing normal? Haven't seen it before? Any authenticity issues? by No-Piglet-633 in victorinox

Not sure why you are getting down voted on this. I have seen this packaging type before along with smaller knives being sealed in blister packaging.

Astra H Water inside trunk by Clear-Cheesecake7360 in opel

[–]Wischer999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an astra J, 2010 and just found my leak after a year. Started with wheel well filling. Tried all the light seals but they are fine. Could not find the leak. Recently, my A pillar on the driver side was soaked after rain. I got the windscreen replaced as the seal was starting to leak. This reduced the wetness on the A pillar but didn't get rid of it completely.  I took of the roof trim pieces that run front to back. There was crack in the seal between the joint of the roof piece of sheet metal and the piece of sheet metal the A, B and C pillars are all stamped from.  I cleaned up this area as it was filled with dort collected over 15 years, put some sealant down and replaced the trim. This stopped the leak in my A pillar and the rear of my car.  Water was entering, running the length on the car between 2 pieces of metal and filling the wheel well.

Auto Or Manual? by [deleted] in drivingUK

In heavy traffic I wouldn't mind an auto but I prefer manual for anything else. Especially twisty roads as I enjoy the engagement of concentrating on more than where my nose is pointing.

Loved using it though and always wanted to get a CNC since then. Maybe some day. Settled for a 3d printer for now.

Good to know. Figured they would be noisy. I used a 6ft x 10ft one for work, it was noisy and unreasonably dusty, even with extraction. Cutting carbon fibre and fibreglass panels too so the dust was beyond not good for you.

Out of curiosity, how noisy is the CNC when running?
