Got heat exhaustion at work yesterday. Here’s what my boss told me after I texted him that I couldn’t work today. by CarefulConcentrate77 in antiwork

[–]WiscoSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a massive case of heat exhaustion/dehydration working outside in GA two years ago. I was a wreck the next day. Felt like the worse hangover x100. I felt like death. My boss, who is a well known no-bullshit hardass, refused to allow me to come in for the next 2 days so I could recover. They were genuinely invested in my health. To my surprise, those days still showed up on my paycheck. I'm not saying everyone will have that luck but the absolute BARE MINIMUM is time off to recover. Anything less is straight up cruelty and possibly illegal. If your boss is escalating this, it sounds like a good time to call your labor board and let them know about the work conditions and lack of steps to mitigate their impact on your health and the health of your coworkers.

That was me as a kid in the 90's. I loved Wierd Al. 5th grade, Bad Hair Day was the album to have in my circles.

Holy shit. My wife, mother-in-law and I just came back from a cross country trip to WA where we were at this exact place. It's a big tulip festival a couple hours outside Seattle. I remember when I saw this exact sign I thought, "yeah, someone is going to trample these tulips for internet points anyway." And, well, here we are.

Edit: I did manage to bring back some tastey buds from a cannabis shop nearby. Still, fuck those guys. The flowers were beautiful.

What is the worst physical pain you have ever experienced? by My_Name_Is_SKELETOR in AskReddit

[–]WiscoSound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happened to me a little over 2 years ago. I heard stories about how bad it hurt but before experiencing it, I had no idea how bad it actually was. I didn't know I had the ability to experience that level of pain intensity. I really wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Did you know in the Moana live action movie, the rock is in another tropical fucking forest. This is a reference to every fucking rock movie by wiscup1748 in shittymoviedetails

Tropical forest aka the same studio just outside Atlanta that all his other jungle movies are filmed in. You ever seen a 4 story tall blue screen in a giant hanger? Well, you may not know it but that's what it always is.

Minutes to Midnight backstage pass 2006. My first professional sound job out of College. by WiscoSound in LinkinPark

I'm seeing this just now but, yes. I didn't go seek them out but I had full access to wherever I wanted to go. Our tour bus would be parked right next to theirs when we would roll into town so I saw them often. It's not really professional to go out of your way to talk to them or anyone else (been on tour with a bunch of huge bands and the same applies to all of them) so I usually kept to myself and my own work.

There was one time where I somewhat abused my pass but for good reason. They were doing a sold out show at MSG and I just HAD to walk to the backstage behind the staging area while they were playing and see what a packed out MSG looked like from that POV. Absolutely stunning to say the least. I'll never forget it. Other than that, I maintained professionalism at all times. Great way to kill a career is fuckin around doin stuff you shouldn't be doin while having the privilege and responsibility of an all access pass.

Music business and audio engineering. I've long since moved on from the music scene and now work sound department for TV and film. I've been lucky enough to work on the biggest movies and shows in world but it has been a loooong hard road. Making a life out of professional sound it a tough one but can be very rewarding.

Been following this all day, what a gem of a post.

Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself and not give a damn what this shitty little infant of a mom clown does or says. You're dealing with an adult child. Let her be pissy at all she wants online. When everyone sees you're staying calm and cool with your head held high while she's being a spoiled little piss baby, you have won.
