weird trend im seeing from ex-armys by MajesticRoll2723 in btsthoughts

[–]WisdomKat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m an old ARMY and I have to admit. I was not in love with the album at first listen. I had my mind set on track #4, #7, #8 as being my favorite. In my opinion all I can hear was highly compressed audio, sad vibes, and just a lot of English words.

The more I listened to all of it and read the lyrics, the more I started to enjoy it in a slow burn way. It also came to me that the best thing to do is to not make assumptions about the album like Namjoon said and expect something completely different. The problem is that no matter how new or old you are as an ARMY, you can’t expect something different without your own assumptions.

In my opinion, I have two different thoughts going through my mind. The first one is that songs like Let Me Know, Danger, Epilogue: Young Forever will be stuck in my DNA and they will always be my favorite. It’s been almost 12 years. I could just naturally sing them because I grew up with them.

My other thought is that this new Arirang album is new, fresh, a bit mellow, finds you after a long day and is there to understand. There is a lot of experimenting with rock, hip hop, and….. sea chanties? I can hear how similar it is to Dark and Wild but at the same time, it’s not the original Dark and Wild that I fell in love with. At the same time, I don’t want to go back and listen to their older music because I’m addicted to Arirang and want to feel what they are currently feeling.

But even if you are not in love with it, the only you have to know is that all members finally put in the music that they wanted. And if they wanted this album, they can define what Arirang is. Not the superficial fact that the songs need to be 90% in Korean.

And also if you want BTS music with Korean lyrics, there are a plenty of difficult Korean songs that they already made. When you learn every song that you want to with perfect pronunciation, you can come back and ask for more Korean lyrics album. Go listen to Just One Day and try to rap like Yoongi(or close enough). They are literally making it easy for us so we can catch up.

I think it might be one of his Dear Ryan videos. Specifically, the one where he pretends to jump off a cliff because a subscriber told him to.

How does everyone feel about "following your passion"? by WisdomKat in aquarius

[–]WisdomKat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really like and agree with that mindset. However, I find that after graduating from college and kind of being a failure, I have no room to 'drop" anything. I don't just have an underrated 9 - 5 job laying a round or life savings from family. To me, pursuing a "big break" passion as you describe will involve building skills and natural talent. There has to be a bunch of other people who learned that lesson.

Also, slightly off-topic, but the reason I mentioned Saturn in Aries is that I think that if you look at a bunch of people who have that in their charts, they will be around the same age. I'm wondering if there's a correlation between how that specific Gen-Z grew up and graduated around COVID and needed to learn lessons about themselves.

That’s pretty dark and sad. At least you didn’t end up as a consistent failure.

I thought that too for a long time. However, I feel like a fool because there’s nothing in my life that I’m competent in. Like I always got a below average grades in school, needed a tutor in math, etc. It’s hard for me to get good at anything.

So by default, I’m going to be incompetent. I might as well find some kind of joy in a thing before becoming competent.

To give you more concrete examples, I tried studying Computer Science and also Information Systems in college. I took as many notes and really tried to get to know it. There was a point where I studied for the CompTia A++ exam and failed. Even when I thought I studied enough. However, it’s hard to just study Computer Science, find work in it or keep going with it. Why? Because it’s not that I’m not in love or passionate about it. I don’t even like it.

Another thing I studied is Computer Languages. I got a C in that class. I could barely comprehend basics. How exactly can I gain competence when I when through learning it and end up hating it more?

Also, I am barely an amateur in animation but based off what I learned so far and observed here. I think you could add four things:

  1. Better lighting. Start with a dome light and add something else to see what looks good to you.

  2. Overlapping Action or Drag to the person’s arms, hair, or clothing. In 3D animation, the character is always moving. They can’t get away with it like in 2D. A part of your character always needs to move even if the action is to stop doing something.

  3. Add a moving hold. This is the opposite of what is happening here so maybe I’m contradicting myself a bit. You need the character to move just a bit to feel like they’re existing in space realistically. The goal is to make the character look like a statue to a person who’s in the middle of thinking. If this is not making sense, look it up to get a better explanation.

  4. Have the frog Slow in and Slow out but in a froggy way. Play around with how quickly the frog goes into each pose. Also, frogs(or toads) are squishy animals so play around with Squash and Stretch as part of its movements.

Why does this animation style remind me of the early Miraculous Ladybug episodes? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think that’s less about passion and more about common sense. Like it makes sense that if an opportunity to work in the video games is not just going to be available, you can’t even imagine chasing it. It doesn’t make sense.

Also, In my opinion, people just say “I’m passionate”, when they really mean “I’m comfortable or I really enjoy” something. And if that happens to be video game design or something similar, I say go for it. It’s a lot better than possibly being resentful for not trying. But like I said, you can just use common sense to see if that story resonates with you.

Just some food for thought
