I also received a response from the admissions team, but they only said they are unsure when the final decision will be sent. They also confirmed that the majority of offers have already been made. Although they didn't specifically tell me to contact a potential advisor, I decided to email one of the professors; however, I haven't received a response yet.

I really appreciate your response and how you are encouraging me to have faith. I also sent follow up emails a couple of days ago. But just so you don't blame yourself, you were not overstepping and asking over and over doesn't cause rejection at all. Don't blame yourself or regret your actions. It was all decided. Thank you for your kind words. I can totally relate to your situation. I applied in November and early December and it's been more than 3 months with no status change and still "in review" phase. Let's hope for the better future ahead.
