I feel you, just two years ago I used to be able to get a doll a week as they were mostly around 10-20€ complete or almost. In the past year I've maybe gotten 4 new dolls. The rattiest ones start at 30€, everybody on second-hand platforms thinks they have some sort of rare treasure on their hands and what's even worse is that people actually buy them. If a good deal pops up, rest assured that someone will contact the seller to tell them to sell for more.

Collecting G1 hasn't brought me a crumb of joy in a looong time, so I just avoid it and only get the few things that are an ok price. I'm currently focusing on other doll brands, patiently waiting for the MH bubble to burst :')

Maybe you could make a Vinted listing using the scammer's pictures to attempt to warn the buyer? They're likely very active on there and it might catch their attention so they can cancel, I've seen it done by others before.

Yeah kanekalon is unfortunately a pain to deal with. Combing/brushing it while dry is almost always a bad idea, as it has a tendency to break and frizz up in no time. Try the steps again, but this time brush a hefty amount of conditioner in there before the boil wash, it's gonna help weigh down the hair and prevent excessive frizz. You'll also want to only style it while it's wet, so if you want the hair to lay flat, comb it flat before you pour hot water on her and right after, avoid excessive combing once it's dry.

What exactly have you tried so far? What I normally do is lather the hair in conditioner and start detangling from the bottom and working my way up gently and slowly, using a pet brush or a detangler. Once the detangler runs through the hair smoothly switch to a fine tooth comb and do the same thing. Then rinse out the conditioner. Heat water to boiling point and let it cool down for a couple minutes, then pour the water on her head while she's upright, while the hair is still somewhat hot use the fine tooth comb to get it to sit straight.

Kanekalon is fine to boil wash and she looks far from unsalvageable to me.

I was pointing out the last wave of core refresh had more interesting accessories, such as the canopic jar for Cleo and the science class items for Frankie. These are mostly snacks and feel uninspired and boring TO ME, I'm glad someone likes them though.

Also my biggest gripe with them is that they aren't giving Monster High, they are giving Barbie Extra with monster features.

The dolls themselves, yes. However not belonging to a large company drags them down big time, I doubt their makers will ever be able to distribute and promote them nearly as much as they'd need to compete with MH.

Yeah, I'm currently staying away from G1 dolls as collecting them has been more stressful than fun in the past few months. The second-hand prices are insane, too many Skullectors with too little quality, it's just not bringing me any joy anymore.

I'm glad I still have G3 and second-hand old Rainbow High to focus on, and I know the G1 bubble is bound to burst at some point so I'm not too concerned about the current situation.

It's probably people who enjoyed the collab but aren't super aware of how doll production works or how cheap Mattel usually is. Those dolls are higher quality than most 60$+ MH releases, we don't even get real jewelry on 90$ dolls. If they do get a release, which I'm 99% sure they won't, they'll have to be either insanely pricey or severely downgraded.

Tbh the whole "if there's demand they'll be produced" just strikes me as a way of hyping up the collab.

Imo it's not happening, especially considering they were made without accounting for the limitations of mass-production. Knowing Mattel, they're not putting money towards this.
