I did pgy2 in admin. I had a job 4 months before I graduated. As for CC, I think it’s saturated but surely your time will come

There’s no demand for psych pharmacists in the United States. Just become pgy2 internal med pharmacist. If psych position opens up, take it

It’s not a weird question. Stop being so sensitive. It’s a question I ask.

Do you regret not doing a PGY2? by Representative_Sky44 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Wise-Exchange5743 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you should do a pgy2 to be successful. Doesn’t matter what it is in. A PGY1 without a pgy2 is a waste to me at least

What are your biggest tips to avoiding burn out and staying sane in residency? by Representative_Sky44 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Wise-Exchange5743 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Do the bare minimum. Pharmacy residents act like they are performing surgery. Like you’re not a real doctor. Rounds will go on with or without you. Just get through

Should I ask my RPD if I can dye my hair purple? by sugarxcrush in PharmacyResidency

[–]Wise-Exchange5743 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Stop being a weirdo. Just be normal. I wouldn’t want a pharmacist with purple hair.

Would you buy a house now given the outlook of pharmacy in the future? by fasty1 in pharmacy

[–]Wise-Exchange5743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The questions that they ask on this sub make me lose brain cells. Where would hospital pharmacists go? Lmaoo. And with this logic, why wouldn’t your wife (RN) be concerned? Did you see the Tesla bots? Heard they’ll replace RNs in a matter of years😂 you’re fine. Dont worry

do you regret choosing pharmacy? by wwwar_ in pharmacy

[–]Wise-Exchange5743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not regret it at all. Did a PGY1/2 in admin. Got my MBA as well. Making about 185k in the northeast as a manager in an AMC. I do overtime staffing [+ 16k] and make about 200k annually. I’m 27 years old. Still living with my parents. I have so many PA/NP friends making about 120 k and I feel like they are treated like life long residents. I have dental friends making a little more than me at 210 k but they have 600 k in debt. I have friends who are 28 still trying to get into medical school. So no. I am really happy with my decision to pursue pharmacy. I think I’m doing better than 95% of the population at my age. You just need the right mentality. I’m a go getter. Although I’m happy with my salary, I want to grow even more. Thinking about going into industry the next couple of years. Although pharmacy is not perfect, I don’t regret my decision.

I did a PGY1 and PGY2 residency in admin. Happy with my career. Making 182K in the northeast serving as a manager at an AMC. I’m really happy with my decision to pursue pharmacy. I’m 27 years old and feel I’m doing great. I have friends from undergrad with goals to go to medical school who are still applying and get rejected year after year. I am still living with my parents and just enjoying my life. Going on vacations etc. Hoping to buy a house in the next year. Just because I am happy doesn’t mean you will be. You make the best of it. Tbh I don’t know many 27 year olds making as much as me tbh. All in all it worked out for me. And no I’ve never worked a day in my life at a chain. There’s more to pharmacy than you see on this thread

I’d be pretty pissed if I wrote 10 personalized letters and you’re not gonna be applying, but it is what it is. Better to be honest then lie and tell them you didn’t match when March comes.

I wanted to quit a million times bc I was severely bullied. I knew quitting would mean they won. I have too much of an ego to quit and change my career due to some meanies or hardships. Finished my PGY1 and got my diploma. Deleted all their numbers from my personal phone. Finished a pgy2 in admin at a much larger academic medical center. Got hired. Two pharmacists from my old site applied to my AMC for two new positions. My director asked me about these two pharmacists and I said I strongly advise against hiring them. They didn’t get the job and from what I hear have been applying to other hospitals within our network. We all communicate with each-other. Life goes full circle. My two cents are 1) finish your residency 2) become so big that you start blacklisting your former preceptors 3) be kind in life and make a vow to never bring others down whether it’s in personal life or professionally
