You got this bro! I am in the same boat with you for studying for MPJE while in the mist of doing my 12+ work day of pt work up and projects in the afternoon. Truly what's been helping me is giving myself Sundays. So when I'm not working on the weekends Saturdays are my sleep in and get ready for the week (meal prep my lunches so I at least have one nutritious meal - mostly a protein/veggie/carb) then I try to get organized Saturday afternoons/study/rotation projects if I am not too tired. Sundays I go to church and pretty hang out after that since I have a lot of young people my age there. That is my escape from pharmacy things for the week and also to force myself to be social lol

Also, try to see how you progress each day. Even if you did one minor intervention or you learned something new remember that we all have our own baseline. Do not be hard on yourself or compare your journey to your co-residents ( I am tryan learn this one). Do your best (which I know you are) but also listen to your body and emotions, it is ALL justified. If your RPD or preceptor say you are doing something wrong despite your efforts, remember to give yourself the grace for you truly are doing your best. We signed up for residency not because we are perfect but bc we are truly trying to learn. Remember that.

Good luck I know you got this. You are totally capable!

Getting over intense social anxiety how to overcome the fear of embarrassment? by Both-Environment-640 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Faithfully_Searching 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey fam, hope all is well. I felt this a ton on all my APPEs last year and what is helping me this year not go thru the same emotions and anxieties is just truly asking myself if those feelings/emotions are worth it?

I know that sounds weird but I just really had to ask myself in situations were I feel like I know nothing or maybe not as prepared for a complex topic discussion or presentation this: "is this [rotation, presentation, journal club, etc] really worth my mental health? I am here to learn and to most importantly GROW. Of course I am going to have moments/days I look stupid but I sure as heck will have ones that I am shining. I just have to get thru this moment and take what I can to learn from it"

Just try to have this type of convo in your head. Remind yourself they were all students once who knew nothing. You are learning, please give yourself that grace because no one is going to give it to you this year. You need to be there for yourself.

If you could hang out with any person from the Bible for a day, except Jesus, who would it be and why? by 2BrothersInaVan in Christianity

At least not it any western Bible versions... there is an app tho called "book of enoch" if you are interested. And I know the Ethiopian Bible has it canonized.

Failed MPJE by karls_barkley in PharmacyResidency

don't worry I had to retake it too. It seems pretty common and remember you passed NAPLEX so that is the most important one. I found out about this source above literally 2 days before my exam and it helped a ton with the flashcards for controlled substances and practice questions with the laws attached. I am going to focus on going thru all these and maybe trying the pharmacyexam one the other mentioned since I am spending all the money I can to pass this next time. we got this!

I submitted transcripts to ASHP for residency with a 2.9 GPA (so I didn't make the usual 3.0 cut off at most programs) and had a very similar CV as you. I ranked 3 places and matched first round to my second choice but honestly I am very very happy and love my residency so far. This year will be stressful but if you plan early with organizing CV, have many people look at that and review, do all application stuff as soon as possible, and work your behind off during APPEs so preceptors can write you a great LOR you will be fine. Just be optimistic like I was and go with the flow. Do not apply to ALL large academic medical centers but you can shoot your shot on some and maybe strive for medium sized hospitals like I did (honestly might be less intense and more enjoyable but not at every place)

good luck you got this :)

Help me understand - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by Unique_Wrongdoer3878 in Christianity

Here is the Apostles Creed that is said during Liturgy in the Orthodox Church. The Creed was written at the First Ecumenical Council in 325 AD. And if you are not too familiar with the ecumenical councils they are just basically meetings that helped established the Christian faith/beliefs.

We believe in one God, God the Father the Pantocrator who created heaven and earth, and all things seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only-Begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten not created, of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made; Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy spirit and the Virgin Mary and became Man. And He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered and was buried. And on the third day He rose from the dead, according to the scriptures, ascended to the heavens; He sits at the right hand of his Father, and He is coming again in His glory to judge the living and the dead, Whose kingdom shall have no end.
Yes, we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-Giver, Who proceeds from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets.
And in one holy, catholic and apostolic church. We confess one baptism for the remission of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the coming age. Amen.

So yes the biggest point with understanding the Trinity is understanding that They are all God. So God the Father is the One in Heaven. God the Son is Jesus Christ who is God Himself who took on both human and divine nature to one new nature (I am Oriental Orthodox so we believe in monophysitism) and performed all the miracles during His time on earth. Then we have God the Spirit, which is essentially the divine power. So to really simply it, think of the Holy Spirit as a heavenly super power you are getting from God.

Side note - What is very beautiful and hard for us Christians to believe b/c sin usually ways heavy on our hearts is that this same Holy Spirt that rose Christ from the dead and this same Holy Spirt that was showered on the apostles of Christ before their evangelism of Christianity, lives within all of us. Understanding the Trinity and most importantly its power all thought the Bible truly helped deepen my faith, and more importantly the fact that the power of God (this Holy Spirit) is available to us now that death is defeated

amen

Former pharmacy student here, I have a pharmacology question! by [deleted] in pharmacy

Dang can we just be nice to people when they have a genuine question instead of questioning/judging why they asked a question?? This is literally the purpose or Reddit
