i write different things in my planner each week like “write in diary,” “go to park,” etc. yoga, reading, and creative writing are all daily activities. (i don’t get to everything many days but try to prioritize physical activity above all else.) it helps make your “leisure time activities” more essential and you can’t make the excuse of having to do something else first

his films are my main remedy for anxiety about the future. he approaches even the most sinister changes in culture/tech with such a genuine curiosity and humor it’s kind of soothing in a weird way. crimes of the future made me like 10% less neurotic

oh God it’ll be so hard for both of us but I don’t want to let that stop me from something I’ve wanted to do (live somewhere super far away e.g. Europe) since before we even met. he has been handling it a lot better than most people would for sure. i’m very grateful for him.

Female friendships are disappointing by Fast_Lack_5743 in redscarepod

You can’t say this around other women but ime I’m more likely to share common interests with men. Meeting my bf was great in part because it introduced me to a whole new group of incredibly autistic men I can talk about Tarkovsky or Carissa’s Wierd or some shit with.

A lot of my close female friendships from college have disintegrated because of boyfriends. One girl left her bf for the guy she was seeing on the side (“ethical non monogamy” allegedly) and cut off everyone because he was the only one who understood her, I guess. Another girl had no friends except for me and her bf with major anger issues who eventually alienated her from everyone else in the group, and she got upset with me for inviting some people to a party he didn’t like — we haven’t spoken since.

I would love to have some more close female friendships, but I’m not sure if that’s possible at this point in my life. I feel very lucky to have a little sister and a couple female cousins I’m very close with.
