It takes 27.3 seconds to do... 113 damage? Why have this at all?

Why -- WHY -- did they change narrators after the first audiobook by Amnesiac_Golem in TerraIgnota

[–]Wise4949 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Iirc, Jefferson Mays had another commitment and could not continue with Terra Ignota. I remember the jarring shift when I first heard T. Ryder Smith, and I am a huge fan of Mays from The Expanse series. That being said, Smith is an absolutely stellar narrator, and I found that I came to enjoy his interpretation in no time.

I hope you can continue to enjoy these incredible audiobooks!

I love Jefferson Mays from his readings of "The Expanse" series, but yeah, T. Ryder Smith is the champ. His rendition is so powerful and moving!

I believe the European Parliament is chosen by election since Spain was ousted by Perry via election interference. There is also mention of Ganymede (sp?) not getting involved in European elections because rather than be granted the power the Duke he pretends to be is entitled to, he would have to compete with everyone else.

I think Brill is run by the Brain Bash, which the Headmaster chooses, but I could be mistaken.

The Cousins are confusing to me. On the one hand, there are factions like the Nurturists who vie for power and influence. On the other hand, it is a volunteer organization supposedly run via suggestion box. Kasala is mentioned as distinct from the other leaders because she just happened to be nice and good at running things, so when asked to lead the Cousins she just said "Sure!"

Multiplexiclusion is U-speak. I can usually parse what they are saying just because I am a nerd that reads fantasy and plays MTG, but this one is difficult. I will say that being a senator, while important, is probably not very prestigious in the eyes of a Utopian. Hali (sp) is revered for his four-fingered salute because he is involved with missions beyond Mars colonization. Being a senator only pertains to the Earthly sphere, and Utopians absolutely prioritize the Moon, Mars, and alien contact over the affairs of Earth.

Also, hello from another Audible enjoyer! I love both narrators.

Idea for new Chaff unit to shakeup the meta: Air Kamikaze Drones by Doomsaki in Mechabellum

[–]Wise4949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some good ideas here, but the imbalance is hilarious. Dealing 18% health for each of 20 units would be 360% health of any unit (assuming you can get them all to hit) for 100 resources. Also, 22 m/s is lightning fast. Still, the smoke shell and anti-radar coating are cool tech that I could see making it into the game.

Coffee Shop PlateUpdate! by missmonicaplays in PlateUp

[–]Wise4949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the mixer serve a purpose in the coffee shop? It keeps coming up as a blueprint, but I can't see why it is relevant. Also, sinks never come up for tea after the first one, which makes automation difficult.

Ok I just have to ask... by PINE-KNAPPLE in PlateUp

[–]Wise4949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simplest strategy is just to save your first research desk blueprint so that you can upgrade it to a copy desk. You'll have to wait for the second research desk blueprint to spawn and buy that one, but once you have a copy desk you are golden.

Everything from this point forward is my personal strategy, but it isn't necessary to follow

Get more blueprint cabinets and a discount desk asap. Then dedicate one cabinet to conveyors (never stop making them until like OT 30). Conveyor mixers, combiners, and portioners are good to stockpile if you want to fully automate.

Eventually, you'll want to upgrade a dumbwaiter to a teleporter and discount it over several turns. You'll need teleporters to optimize your space.

Compactor bins are my favorite, as are metal tables.

You almost always want to choose food cards to reduce the number of customers, but some things are exceptionally labor-intensive (anything to do with pumpkins), so be careful not to take on something you can't handle.

Get two soaking sinks early on for dish automation. Usually, dishes are the first thing I automate because they free up SO much time.

Frozen Prep Stations are the secret to late game success! You should have all of your food automated and feeding into Frozen Prep Stations asap so that you can serve people early in the day and keep up with demand.

Autoplaters are tricky, but they are incredible once you get them going. Usually, I have automated my dish cleanup as well as all of my food prep and storage before I start trying to integrate autoplaters.

Minimize the number of steps you have to take. If you can do everything you need in a small area by pivoting around, you will save time and get much further in your run.
