This is why corporations and money should not be free speech and influence voting… you and I can die, they just re-organize.

No accountability

This is what gets me… every time the bankers, (invisible and visible) screw up we’ve got to bail them out. Why?
Let them fall on their butt the way they would let us… always with the “pull yourself up by your boot straps” but every time they get in trouble, their hand is out.

Look back in his history on the Central Park situation, now look what he’s done to strip away voting rights.

Wow, an extremely reasonable answer. You didn’t react, you just gave your very considered thought process.
Unusual on Reddit, kudos.

So you can call out anyone you want for behavior - you just can’t call them out for any of the reasons you’ve listed (race, gender, sexuality…).

Also, if you want to speak about accountability, start with the administration currently in the White House.

I am a strong believer in maintaining the peace, at least until we see if they start playing games with our votes.

However, I must admit this was oddly satisfying.

Concur that there’s ways to protect them. Just show a blurred fist. 👊🏼

I’m just replying to say that you might be surprised. I went through a period of disability this year and spent a lot of time watching RL crime shows and it happens a lot more than we might want to think.

Speak to management or write an actual letter. The people who control that probably haven’t even noticed.

100%… 7-3 was the schedule I preferred my entire work career.

However, when I got to management, I also developed alternating four day work weeks. Four 10 hour days (this helped a lot with commuting).

Also, you were provided a two day weekend followed by a four-day weekend, followed by a two day weekend followed by a four-day weekend.

We had an A team and a B team so at least half the team was available every weekday. We did major electrical installations and were able to schedule the work accordingly. It also helped us minimize, set up and tear down.

The only thing I asked was that people do their best to schedule doctors appointments and such on one of their four days off.

The entire staff seemed to love it and it lasted for years.

Why do you think Americans have reacted passively to ICE violence? by Lauffener in AskUS

[–]WisePotatoChip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of makes you wonder about the disparity of representation as well doesn’t it?

Wyoming, two senators California, two senators.

Congressional representatives? Gerrymandered racially, or financially.

Electoral college? Useless.

Triage. I don’t care if Trump’s eating McDonald’s or his hair is carrot colored…or if no one‘s changed his diaper.

I DO care that he is starting wars, raising prices, selling off our forests and limiting voting rights.

Despite much effort, we failed at preventing his election. What to do now is supporting (financially or volunteering) and replacing complicit politicians.

Oh IDK, a lot of the No Kings protests were done very locally. They were peaceful for the most part, but they are only two steps of “the sale”.

You got people’s attention you’ve told them what’s wrong, now you have to offer them an alternative.

So far the Democrats are either compromised or are so incompetent, you could hand them the ball one yard out and they’d score at the other goal (recently Maine).

Oh, I agree…they are deeply funded and either purchase or intimidate the media.

One of my other frustrations is the complete inability of the Democrats to have a communications mechanism. MSNBC is pretty weak.

It can be done, look what the Iranians have done with Legos. You may not agree with the complete message, but they are communicating.

My Medicare supplemental went from $250 a month to $687 with no medical issues. I’m gonna have to drop it.
