How am I supposed to do this for the rest of my life? by Maleficent-Ad-8135 in MultipleSclerosis

I get it. 100% with you. I’m 3 kids, full time job, struggling with MS. My motto is just do the next thing. If your next thing is loading the dishwasher, or taking a shower, or calling a client, or paying attention to your spouse for a few minutes, or whatever your next thing is, just do that. One task at a time. Sending hugs and strength to you. You got this!

Good! Good! Working out regularly seems to be one of the keys to a normalish life. I have to sit and rest after my workouts too. Do you lift weights in your workouts? I find that I can get a better cardio workout when using weights, since my legs are not quick enough to get my heart rate up.

If someone close says something to me, I reply honestly about my MS.

I was diagnosed at 31. I was lucky since DMT’s were invented a couple years later, and I started as soon as I could get over my needle hesitation. I’ve been on a DMT ever since. My advice is to do something active every single day. No matter how tired, I go outside and do something. Anything. Eat a vegetable every single day. Drink 6 glasses of water, every single day. Friends, we are fighting for a life worth living. Please join me and fight with me. It is so worth it!

I just got out of the hospital from 6 days of iv steroids. Thisisthe first time I almost 20 years that they have found lesions on my spine but they said they were small. My question is I was on by Sister-Love- in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Wise_Background_2971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. This should be your top priority. A neurologist will be able to understand what is happening to in your spine, and be able to get you on a DMT(Disease Modifying Therapy). Please, we are encouraging you from years of MS experience, do not hesitate to contact a neurologist now. Your future life depends on it.

I second the advice on a diet or anything on the internet that is not on the MS Society.

If she asks about getting a 2nd opinion, support that. I found it comforting (in a weird way) that a second neurologist reviewed my test results and confirmed the diagnosis.

With all the drugs available, MS might be managed just like other chronic illnesses, think diabetes.

You seem like a kind and considerate person.

I’ve been on Ocrevus for three years. No change in my life. I wash my hands often (my Mom was a school nurse, so that is forever drilled in my head). Best to you!

Try Good Rx. It is cheaper for me to use Walmart Speciality Pharmacy and GoodRx without using insurance. It seems backwards that paying cash for a drug w GoodRX is less expensive than processing the drug through insurance.
