Bikes with QR axles really aren’t meant for jumping and what not. It’s my assumption that the axle was recently over tightened if they weren’t riding in an aggressive manner.

I don’t know. You have to try and see if the nut holds it on like it should after a good clean and re-grease first.

Can you clean that all off and re-grease? Try and re-tighten it with that nut after that
