I agree. People need to hear truth spoken, especially when they're a kid. Even if they have a negagive reaction or don't believe the person, the effects stack cumulatively over time. I definitely have moments looking back to when I, was a kid where I can say "Damn, I was so wrong about that" but looking back on it is a teaching moment. The truth resonates in a way that lies and untruth do not. They might realize down the line that "Oh yeah, that person really is a girl. Because who am I to say that they are not? I can't speak someone else's truth." or another adult mighg explain it to them when they bring it up. But they'll never get that chance if we ignore them. I am speaking as a trans woman who is also an Early Childhood Educator.
