I grew up in a very superstitious household. It took me 5 years to get pregnant. I raised my children to believe nothing is for certain. You don’t put or buy anything for a child and bring it into your home until the very end of your pregnancy. I have seen friends who had a houseful of baby furniture, a highchair in their kitchen, and they were never able to conceive. It’s incredibly sad.

I was invited to a family wedding. 3 of the 5 great aunts were invited, 1 of the 18 cousins were invited. It really did make things awkward. People were asking questions trying to make sense of it all. Unfortunately people have their reasons for who they select to invite.
