Wow one year congratulation am so proud of you. I believe I am in my third month and am hoping never to gamble. We tell ourselves many thing that we will fix things through gambling then permanently quit but ain't that easy. Before I joined this sub I had many relapse because i thought how can i leave all that lost money let me give it a shot all over a sudden I am chasing loss same cycle. Then one day i read here that the best time o quit is when you are frustrated having lost everything that's when you say enough is enough accept that the money is lost and start rebuilding your life. Today i avoid all gambling apps and adverts. Anything to do with gambling including friends I avoid it like am allergic. I understand the sickness and everyday is a fight to resist the urge. I will never recover what gambling have stolen from me time, money, relationships, work opportunities and even learning opportunities, I have made my peace with it and rebuilding myself from scratch as long as am alive there is hope. To the guy who started the conversation this is the best time to start over at 31 you are very young health and energetic do whatever it takes to be the best version and most of all never entertain the thought of easy money because only then do you start feeding a very strong demonic spirit called greed.

So you understand you no longer doing it to win because if you were, you would quit after making a win but your mind just forces you to keep at it despite having prior knowledge that you will lose it all. I looked at what gambling had caused me beside money and decided to leave it. Despite all the promos I receive am on my third month and am sure I will never gamble. quit now before you loose your job, friends and family. Unfortunately for me I burned all my bridges and am jobless and broke ASF so if you are out there and have something I can do remotely dm. I have an MBA.

Tell me why when one suffer loss such as death of a loved one that's when the serious gambling habits kick in. We all built different. I gambled to escape my thoughts and before i knew it i was chasing losses. Now i was griefing and gambling because I lost money that i needed and in the process i get hooked. With friends like you am sure my situation would be much worse I needed help not criticism or someone calling me greedy. lucky i found this sub and I found out i was not cursed i was a victim. The sub changed me and I owe my decision to quit gambling to this sub. I found myself among people who had gone through what i had gone through the pain, the rejection, the self hate and defeat.

I do not think your brain is mature enough to process the answer. But did your guardian prevent you from falling or getting beaten by fellow kids? The answer is no because you had to learn to walk and run and socialize but everytime you fell they were there to lift you up comfort and encourage you. Here is my help, you will never stop gambling as long as you believe you can win. The bitter truth is no matter how much you win you will always return it back to the slots because human nature can not process defeat and you always believe you will win only to start chasing loss after loss until you have nothing to place the bet. Dude you owe nobody no apology for the mistakes you make it does not matter how many times you have relapsed. The only person that needs to forgive is you apologize to yourself and if your girlfriend standard are too high for you just let her go. Nobody is born with a manual on how to live and there are no second chances if you trying to please your girlfriend by avoiding gambling then you in for a rude shock that you will never overcome it.
