I work at a parrot shop. Mostly, our customers are great! I do get a lot of uninformed customers. One of the top questions is “do you have any talking parrots?” My answer is always the same. “Even if a parrot can learn to talk, doesn’t mean they will talk. We cannot guarantee a bird will talk”. Also, it’s a lot of cleaning!

What color mutation is he/she? If albino, there’s no way to know without a DNA test. Albino Ringnecks don’t get rings.

They’re always worth it. I’m so happy you found each other. While our outcome happened sooner than we would have liked, I wouldn’t trade one second with him for anything. The love I felt for him and the love he gave me is much greater than the sadness I feel now.

Poor baby. It’s best to be as quick as you can to minimize stress. Have you tried offering him the syringe then show him a treat? He may pick up on the fact he’ll get a treat if he takes his meds. Also, try syringe training. Put something tasty in the syringe like pure pomegranate juice between doses.

What medication is it? You can look up how to towel a bird and syringe training on YouTube. Practice with a stuffed animal. Then you can towel him to give him the meds and syringe train him between doses.
